How everything beeps!!!

What is the point in having a hidden microphone or gps tracker placed on a car or in someones house when it has a flashing light and is beeping? And then there is the gps/palm that will track the object that looks something like the image below. It will have a large, red dot that shows where the beacon is, and at the same time it is beeping! What is the point in making the palm beep when it will always be in your hand and when the beeping has no function other than saying " you got the beacon on the screen"? That must be the largest cliche in spy movies. Get rid of all beeping and flashing GPS trackers!

does anybody knows what file format they use in 24? Everything's green and they have all these fade effects when they load new images etc. Doesn't seem very useful though... :-P And man, those cell phones can upload/download EVERYTHING!

You cannot zoom in on a face using a frame from a video recorded by a security cam. Normal security cams only record a frame each second so the tape will last longer.
A GPS tracker needs to be atleast the size of your thumb, because of batteries, antenna and the technology involved. The same applies for a camera.
When a computer searches a databas, it doesn't make a scrolling sound, it won't flash all the records on screen (because the search is much faster than the frame rate of your screen) and it wont show a flashing, red message accompanyed with a continous beeping sound when it has found/not found a record.
you cannot zoom, crop or rotate parts of an image while only using the keyboard, at least not in 3 seconds.

Did anybody see him writing things with his one-handed keyboard? He basically just whacked the palm of his hand onto the keyboard and produced the most perfectly written sentences ever known to man.

Transporter 2....the main character broke into some room with a computer with "the secret files" and downloaded some dude's photo onto his ipod then was in the car driving and called FBI headquarters or whatever and told the guy on the phone "i'm sending you his photo now" and pushed a button on the ipod and the guy receives the secret photo and files through his email.

i was half sleep when i was watching this but damn, thas one helluva ipod...lol.

Some moments to remember:

In "MI:1" - when Ethan Hunt is using the internet (not very common at the time) to find everything he wants just by doing a search for the keyword "Job". Then he finds the email adress to this guy: "max@Job 3:14"

In "Enemy of the State" they use some super haxx program to rotate a video recording even though the camera is filming one area all the time

And of course, CSI is the worst show when it comes to stupid technology... I hate how they always have some super computer program to fix everything they need. (And if the technology isn't stupid enough, the investegators find the evidence so fast. They can see a hair in 20 meters and darkness... (just an example))

I like CSI Las Vegas. At least Grissum throws some old tech into the mix.
Personally I like all the fake stuff, gives me something to laugh at...

Not technology related, but the chain of command in movies is crap! Take a standard Star-Trek scene:
Offiser-"They are shooting at us!"
Captain-"evasive manouvers"

Whats the point in asking the captain what to do when you are being shot at? Get away, don't ask someone else what to do!

Well... i don't think anybody is very upset but we think it's stupid. Cause the producers wants to be serious and make realistic movies/shows at the same time as they use all these stupid high tech stuff...

you have to, you cant just do something without going through the captain unless he says to do what you think is correct. its the same thing on a ship.

that is an interesting observation on a couple levels. on one hand, it does suggest that, as consumers of fiction, the public is getting sophisticated to the point that they take it personal. but, on the other, we're pretty damned spoiled if thats all it takes to upset us.
