Movies :: Part XXXIX

The last movie I watched (this was last week) involved Tom Hanks and this stick-thin version of what used to be Catherine Zeta-Jones. Forgot the name - that's how forgettable it was. It took place in an international airport lounge.

I can't think of good movies that are out now. I rarely ever watch movies anyway.

I'm kinda sick of uni assignments and might watch 'Tears of the Sun'.

Gerbick: I enjoyed Sweeney Todd except the intro was pretty crap! I would have to watch it again because I didn't catch some of the dialogue.

Argonauta: Cube is a really awesome movie and it was definitely one of those WTF? movies.

I'm thinking of borrowing out Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now. Uni sucks.

The Tom Hanks movie was The Terminal.

If you watch Apocalypse Now watch the theatrical version first if you are at all interested in watching the Redux. The Redux adds something like 50 minutes to it and a lot of the scenes take away from the plot/chracters in my opinion but worth a comparison.

I saw Km31 the other day, cool mexican horror movie
And then I saw [Rec]. Now that's one awesome movie. I loved it.

Argo, whats the basic plot of Rec? We were around a friends house and saw it advertised and first there was a news reporter, then I watched it again (the trailer ofc) online and it was some firemen, is it supernatural (the girl looks possessed) horror?

a reporter and her cameraman and shooting for a tv show, joining some firefighters to show how they live at night. They get a call to go to a building, where neighbors heard an old lady screaming. They get trapped inside the building. Weird things happen, people die.

It's a Blairwitch project style, as you see everything from the cameraman perspective. And, it's a zombie movie, nothing you haven't seen before. I didn't find it scary, but the actual experience was very inmersive, you really feel like you're there with them. The end is very creepy, too.

It's in spanish, too, so maybe you want to wait for the hollywood remake ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1082868/ ) but I bet it's not going to be as good as the original.

Jesus, I just saw the trailer for quarantine....skip that movie....infact, don't even watch the trailer....it'll ruin it for you if you haven't seen the original.

If its subtitled then I won't care. I don't really care much for Hollywood remakes, when Shutter was redone i've been told that its disgracefully bad, just by looking at the car crash scene (on IMDB) at the beginning you can already see that its lost its grittiness. Same for quite a few other horror's. Best watch them as the originals imo.

Just saw two other movies:

Diary of the Death, it sucked, bad, awful, nothing interesting about it, and the acting was really bad.

The Tracey Fragments, now that was an interesting movie, a bit crazy, with that girl from Juno. I liked it.
