Are you using firefox wannabe?
It happens to me too, so I switch to ie just to look at the images.
You're right, I didn't notice that at first, my mistake.Quote:

Other than that, i love everything about it.

Please don't feel rushed by my quick reply, ctranter. I know I said it'd probably be a week or two between my volleys, but as soon as I saw your image I got hit with an idea and it just kept going...so yeah.
Fantastic work so far, btw. Having you for an opponent certainly keeps me on my toes.
Also, sorry about the file size guys...This is why I never set a limit there ;)
I must be going blind... I can bearly see whats going on in this one.
Fishy thing, i can see. water volcano? or cleft in the earth?
Whats the big black outline arround your blended areas?
WHATS GOING ON!?
Nat, I'm pretty sure it is like a cross-section view of a mountain. Because obviously a normal view you wouldn't be able to see the inside, he masterfully broke it down so that we can see the several layers of stone, and ultimately the city in the centre.
Nice image ond.
Don't have much time - at an internet cafe.
By compression issues what do people mean? looke eok to me I thought, even on this crappy monitor (although it is darker than on my macbook again)
ANd my reply will be slow. I might even have to ask for a semi-postponement for aobut 4 weeks (travelling) but well see how it goes. I'll try.
Nats, DaVulf (thanks for the "masterfully" btw, man ;) ) is exactly correct here. At the point where the sand gets darker is where you're starting to see the sand from the side, rather than the top. And then you can see it gives way to layers of rock and then that the inside is hollow and there's a civilization down there. It took a bit of playing around to get the soil/rock layer to look right to me, apparently it isn't as clear as I'd wanted it to be.Quote:

Hope you have safe travels dude.

About the compression thing, if you look at your image, the sky has that sort of bumpy/blurry jpeg thing going on a bit in the solid blue areas. I don't see any other stock quality issues in the pic, so I'd have to assume this is what they're talking about.

Ooooh. Ok.Quote:

Guys... won't even lie.
The last two have made me turn my monitor in ways it's not supposed to go just to figure out wholly what was all going on.
And guess what?
I friggin' like that. I would probably have done ctranter's image with the fish tank a bit differently, bu that's mainly because my last three tanks were seawater tanks and had bits hanging out that were quite visible.
The cross-section... even though you did a line to distinguish, I still would have liked to have seen it sectioned off a bit more darker - damn, now that's a nitpick if I ever saw one - to accentuate that area.
The simplified text that you both are pushing around though truly allows the viewer to focus in on what's going on.
And sometimes... it means that the viewer might have to hold their monitor in odd angles just to see it all.
wow ond, that image is perfect imo. I stared at it for a good 5 minutes in awe.
ondraedan: Am I a complete slut or is your volley suggestive of a wiggly creature fertilizing a rich valley of love? Very cool piece either way man.
Thanks, Zac. Yes, you are a complete slut. :)
alty, I'm glad you were able to sidestep any confusion and see it as I intended it to be. I was beginning to worry... :o
gerbs, as always, your thoughtful commenting is appreciated.
Awesome volley ondraedan! Reminds me of a civilization beavers would live in.
