bummer...i missed out on the image before it was edited, do you think you can do a link to it, or do you not have the image anymore, cause i'd really like to see it.
Alright here is a link to the original image.

I tried to do something surrealistic.
2nd version is much much better neps.
I understand, I actually like the second one myself, I liked the concept of the first so much that I went for it, but I couldn't execute well, I probably should have been more careful... probably making sure that If I was going to drop, atleast be possitive that that drop would be the one... I have to get out of that habbit.
Peace!
i like the idea of the first one, with the tree coming out of the road, but i do like the finished image better the second time
What's it going to take to get you guys to start using layer masks?
Seriously, nep...that would have been the key to getting your tree to blend properly with the road. ;)
I have alot of crits about this one myself, so feel free to add to the list..

I think it's absolutely fantabulous!
The picture on the wall looks sweet and the girl gives the impression of contemplative and inescapable addiction to Flash Kit. Such is the lure of all the fine artwork that the arena holds that she finds herself compelled to simply be in it's presence. :D
Your image looks great framed, nep! ;)
I was actually thinking the same thing. This is a great image NJP3, I love how you desaturated the stock of the girl, I love those soft colors. The image in and of itself looks great, very well executed.Quote:

It does doen't it.Quote:

haha thanks Rush. yea neps framed image is prolly my favorite part of my image lol. just as long as the girl looks blended ok though..for me its been one of those where I've been looking at it so long it looks wierd no matter what ya know.
looks great NJP. The girl's legs and feet seem a bit off to me, looks like the shadows aren't quite as natural as the rest of the photo. Normally, i'd hate the diagonal grid lines, but you've doe a great job at implementing them.
Guess that means i'm next....i'm going to try to get to this as soon as i can, but I'm moving at this very moment and have a couple projects to wrap up at the same time. I will dedicate some time to this round, but i can't guarantee that i'll be timely.
i'd like to see a more definate shadow on the girl...she seems to kind of float to me, but good image all around. I absolutly love the feel of this image
nice work on the hanged picture
Hurry up and post lefty!!!!
Arrrr....... :yarr:
probably next week guys...sorry. I'm officially moving in 2 days, so packing and such has really bogged me down.
This battle is so crazy.
finally got internet at the house tonight...expect something this weekend.
The only thing I expect is something incredible from you. In the words of JWin, Any less than incredible and you shalt be banninated! So let it be written, so let it be done. So you heard it from him.
i have not forgotten. I am working on something. it's not much and it sucks at this point.
Sorry to put everyone behind on this.
Hey man, as far as I know I only speak for myself but I say take your time and do what you gotta do. The Arena has been pretty dead lately and everyone has many other things in life to attend to as well, so it's not like we're all waiting around with cattle prods and cap guns ready to hunt you down. Well, at least all of us less your secret admirers.
take ur time left. i know my image had little to work off.
i'm sincerely sorry for the long wait. here it is:

cool man i likes it. very cool mood. the brushing at the top is cool. i like the font and I really like the way its formatted (with the repitition of the "To"), and i rekon the simply black works for me too. nice job. glad to see this thing back in action.
crap, i just saw that my blending of the girl at the bottom is a bit off...i hope you don't mind if i fix that.
of course not
ok, edited.
waaaaay better left. I'm not a huge fan of the text setting (tho I can't offer any suggestion for improvement) but in all I think this is a very solid showing. No bannination for you. Now, let's keep this battle moving, I rely on you cats for inspiration.
hey captain, great work. you shouldn't have beat yourself up about it because i think you were very successful man. my only gripe is the text, and not the choice of font, color, positioning or any of that jazz but just the fact that it's there. i feel that the piece alone without the text is powerful enough to convey the message you WANT to tell but also so much more. maybe if the text was treated differently it would work for me but when i cover that forced, intended message with my thumb my spine goes "wow!" *tingle*
I don't have much criticism for you beyond that... you pulled of a great piece both technically and emotionally.
ok, now i'm being a jerk....lol
I reedited to pull back the text so it's not so in your face. I could have done a bunch more with it, but didn't want to take away from the original volley as i think that would be too much cheating.
Hope you guys don't mind.
Wow awesome! I think that was a good move lefteye.
So this means I'm up now right?
yes sir zac..go for it.
Lefty... I love the composition of this image. I agree with Zac in that the image alone is enough to convey the mood and feeling to the viewer without the text. I love the dreamy like feel to this image a lot. The dept of the forest with the fog re-enforces the contemplative mood of the girl in a big way.
She is thinking hard... maybe not thinking at all... the trees disappearing in the distance is a nice way to represent deep thought as it comes and goes. Thoughts that are gloomy, sometimes vage... thoughts that she can't concretely make sense of. Wow, thoughts represented by those trees in the distance.
WoW...
Brilliant lefty... this image really speaks to me.

Havent visited FK in a while. Nice battle guys. Nice job on the last image lefteye!
glad you could stop in dric.
