You wouldn't happen to have a tutorial on what techniques you used on this would you? I love how soft everything is!

Based on pure speculation... I'd say that the basic shape of the head was defined using vectors and then put as a layer on top of the black and then the neck layer, which was also defined with vectors... the shading is definitely painted/airbrushed. It could be a verrrry hi-res image that the artist was drawing way-up-close and exporting as a smaller image size (or with a high DPI). but yeah, it looks like the main shapes (the head, the lips, the eyes, tip of the nose) are sharp enough to be just vector outlines, then filled in with an airbrush or something down those lines.
I haven't worked much at all with vectors myself so that could all be wrong!!
WAIT just search the forums for zoneboy, and hither you go:

First of 12 pieces for my AP Studio Art Concentration!! YAYYAH!!
I'm combining portraits-- I mean-- 50% realistic, the other half represents the person, their interests or something.

Uber coolness T!
Very interesting combination, good lines, good composition, lovely use of shading. GOOD!
Thanks! :D I'm off on a good start then!
Hey everyone, I’ve just put together a little flash component of my weighted line effect. It’s free for download on one condition, you must email me some cool images that you make with it or just post them on this forum. Have fun!
You can get it here.

also, I dont know if it is ok to put a drawing of a nude woman here. does anybody know if it is allowed?
Its allowed as long as its in good taste. Ie: no nipples, no curlies.
well, i think it is in good taste, but the nipples are visible so I guess im im not putting it :/
arkb the vase with the flowers looks gorgious , a bit too dark though
but then again all your pictures are, when you scan your picture scan 'em at least at 200dpi then fix contrast using photoshop then reduce size to 72dpi
and post it
here i tried to lighten it up a little but the resolution is too low there is too much noise

here is something i'm trying to colorize
the dragon its not mine , its a pencil sketch done by a friend of mine
background its all mine
ps
arkb i dont mind seeing women neeples i've seen it before :D
i ve never understood why men's neeples are ok while women are not

My only quibble with that drawing: depth, and detail.
There are a few arias where she sort of blends together. Remember, start from the back and work your way forward, don’t over do the shadows, you can always come back and make other arias darker, its nearly impossible to lighten other arias without loosing detail.
Pay a little more attention to her hand. Remember hands are more or less "fan" shaped with four cylinders and one oval. I'll post a tute on hands later today after work. They are really hard to draw.
Criticism aside, very nice drawing!
an other problem is that im taking pics of the drawings instead of scanning them, so they lose some detail.
Yeah, i know the hand needs more work. thanks for the advice
Properly scanned these today:
http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/8964/pose7pk.jpg Drew this when I was 16. So its REALLY old
http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4199/swim6pc.jpg Drew this about 4 years ago.
Ok, dont feel like drawing out a whole lot of different hands and bone structure.
This tutorial is good : http://www.anticz.com/handtut.htm
waoo natsia i think i am falling in love with this girl :lovers: i i'd like to color the girl may i ??
Outch...
Its a bad illustration based on an old christian Dior ad, no hatching, no solid lines, HB pencil and smudging. Like I said, was 16 at the time, didnt know how to draw.
If you'd like to colour her be my guest. Just dont compalin when you're using the lassoo tool more than fill :P
(post her when she's done)
PM email addie and I'll send you a higer res version to work from.
thanks natsia, i'am talking about the first girl image you know right?
no need for hi resolution pics, since its a pencil sketch i'am gonna kill the line art anyways , I'am gonna increase resolution as i keep going
it will take a while though i can already see that all those little chains are going to be painfull to work with :( when (if)i finish it i'll post the final result
thanks again :D
Kick ass.
Can't wait to see what you do to her.
And good luck. I tried to colour the mermaid thing at work today, it was a 400 dpi scan and the hatching didnt come out too clearly... Just doing the flat colour was a pain in the arse so I left it. Im actually kinda flattered that someone wants to colour something of mine... Damn it, feel all warm and fuzzy. You utter bugger.
PS: her nose is completely skew.
PMS: Magentalious.... Bwwahahahahahahahahah!
lol natsia you made me smile : it feels nice to know that behind this electronic thing there are real people :)
WHAT!?!?!?!?! Real people? Of flesh and blood? NEVER!
Dont click if you dont want to see a naked woman!
an other naked woman
Very nice Akrib.
Hello! New here, greetings everone..
Been drawing and painting but not so much digitally. Like to keep it simple so I just use Flash for now and just got a small drawing pad that helps. Interested in knowing what programs you use?
Anyways posting a small pic I did just to try out the pad..
and here it is..
cool stuff Nickelas :)
i dont draw in flash anymore as matter of fact i havent touched flash in months now
for vector graphics i reccomend flash or illustrator for raster graphics photoshop and painter, although i never really used this last one
it takes sometime to gewt used to because these programs have lots of options and tricks but its worth it
hey natsia i havent forgotten about that picture of yours here are some work in progress
i had to do a few modifications i hope you dont mind :D
of course its all done with photoshoppe
http://www.paintek.com/doodles/testa.jpg

http://www.paintek.com/doodles/testa2.jpg
woaa mags!
Her eyes are really freaking me out!
I love the skin though, you could almost touch it.
Cant wait to see the finished product!
These make me want to try and colour her too....
... no time... roll canvas volley to do... bugger.
Nats and Mags-- looking AWESOME!!!
here's my newest for my concentration: Geisha and a girl!!
http://tahnee.org/concentration/squankybig.jpg
The pencil eye really looks good.
It's strange to see a smiling geisha though, they normally look so brow beaten and sombre.
Its like a visual contradiction.
Again, nice mix of media here although I feel the pencil / graphite section could've been a little more detailed to really emphasize the change in style.
Still quite a nice concept.
Keep them comming!!!
nice stuff people keep it coming :d
sorry natsia haven't had much time to work on that picture of yours lately but just to keep this thread alive here is another exercize hope you like it :)
