i'm volleying next if nobody has already started with gerbo's..
That looks sick Gerbick!! Nice Job!
sly dog you, took me a good 5 minutes to notice the marqueed blood as your border. :P
realy fine image.. i love the little highlights and details in the background and the piece de resistance in the middle (although i have no idea what it is (what is it?)) is amazing.
if nayades volleys soon i'm calling shotgun after him... i want back into this battle. :)
the middle part is actually a mobile by one of my favorite artists, Lee Bontecou. I'm in the process of building one very much like it in Illustrator solely out of vectors, but thought I'd post the inspiration, and not my incomplete piece.
I had more of the blood involved originally, but decided against continuing it... although very well done, thought it had lasted it's lifetime.
Fantastic volley gerbick, great progression of the battle. Yeah it took me a while to notice the reuse of the blood as the borders as well ^_^
I've noticed that effect of the tiny white squares overlayed on the image before, it gives it a great texture .. could you let me in on how it's done? :)
the white squares? Oh... yeah. I just hate "perfect" looking images.
very quick and easy to accomplish. File > New, create a new canvas on a transparent background (72dpi) that's 2 pixels by 2 pixels. zoom in by 1600%. then using the square marquee tool, create a one pixel square, fill it white. Select the diagonally opposite pixel (diagonal down to the right) and fill that one pixel square white.
It'll be four squares total... two filled, two not. CTRL+A, then use Edit > Define Pattern. Name it something - mine is "dotzilla" - and close that file.
Now, create an empty layer in your composition, CTRL+A to select all, Edit > Fill, use Pattern, and find "dotzilla"... fill.
Deselect, change layer application methods if you so wish, use layer masks to hide parts of it, or whatever.
If you meant something else, let me know. It's all simple to create a pattern and use it.
Ah yeah, I get it. Thanks gerbs, I'll keep that one up my sleeve :)
Should've known it was a pattern. I only just discovered custom patterns/brushes recently
Dotzilla .. so true. Small but killer!
Damn nice dude, really damn nice!
Nice to see you back gerbzilla!
ok. i hate it.

could have put more work into it.. but considering the direction i had started with it would have produced nothing but dull eyecandy.
'tis a nice one yeah. :)Quote:

i hadn't thought of it... in fact i was gonna write something like eternity blooms, or mechanical cataclysm, but thought; wtf, this an awful trendy sh*t!
that's why
lol. to make matters worse... I actually had the word eternity stuck in my head for the last four days for no reason.
no ****ing reason whatsoever. ihbst.com is so calling my name dude.
if you actually purchase it, count me in for whatever crazy project it might develop into ;)
