tons of action, controls are really simple, the aim lock and dead aim makes it really easy in small gunfights, larger gun fights can be more dangerous though. the guns sound great.
i just did a mission where i went with the mexican army to storm a rebel hideout. it was night time and there was about 25 npcs from both sides taking cover and shooting each other in these ruines on top of a cliff, so all you saw and heard were gunshots, and little puffs of smoke.
I had some fun in the multiplayer this weekend also, but im sure it would be better with a posse of friends.
Anyone seen the Blur commercial bashing Mario Kart? I think it's great.
Agreed. I just started hitting the A button to skip the scenes and go to the action. So, I'm not sure what the story is at this point.
It's insanely good. Tons of action that plays out in a very dynamic way. No two gun-fights are the same.
You should buy this game. I complain about the story because the rest is so good. I feel like the writers/story concept didn't live up to how great the rest of the game is.
With the amount of money that these games make, they need to start investing in Hollywood level creative for the writing/story. The Red Dead engine/art with Mass Effect 2 writing/story-system might have been the best game made to-date, imo.
for me the story itself is good, however i wish there was a more dynamic way to get to the end. its seems very linear.
alot of game websites have been talking about lost lately. now i never watched lost, i found the idea and plot stupid but this post about how lost effects the video game business/scene

just under 20 hours in and i finished the main story line. cant say much cause it would spoil it for others.
Finished it as well. Might check out multi-player now...
Alan Wake looks like it could be an interesting game. But, there's no demo. Not sure if it looks good enough in reviews to roll the dice on... Anyone have it?
alan wake feels like a rental to me, no multiplayer and maybe a 12 hour story line. the big aspect is the fear you are supposed to feel playing it and that seems like a one shot deal sorta thing to me.
Someone I follow on Twitter says Alan Wake is scary as hell. It's in my gamefly queue.
I'm really enjoying Uncharted 2. One of the better movie style games I've played but really ready for it to be over. Odd how you care less about game length when it's a rental.
Same impression of Wake. Seems like something I want to try but is half the value of other games.
What company do you use to rent games?
Gamefly.com I beat my last two purhases (Assasins Creed 2 and God of War 3) way too fast to justify retail. I really hate replay filler like challenges and god mode so I rarely if ever touch a game once beat. Hell I still never played GTA4 online or it's dlc.
I'm the same way. Lots of games collecting dust.
22.95/month for 2 games at a time is a bit more than I hoped though. The price comes out to cover buying 4.6 $60 games per year. Which is pretty close to the number that I buy and play through each year.
if you can hammer out a few games a month is worth it,
Signed up for the Onlive 12 month free offer. We'll see how it goes on June 17th.
When was the onlive pre-registration open?
I have the single disc plan from gamefly since I just signed up and want to see how it works out. I only play one game at a time so I don't see the need for a multiple disc account. So far I've had Uncharted for almost a month and am at the last chapter so if I beat it in the next couple of days I will have paid $16. If I purchased it and then traded it in I'd still have spent $30.
I could definitely get through more than 1 game in a month most of the time. The problem for me is that I buy NCAA Football every year and play it exclusively for about 3 months during football season. So, it would be a waste during that time.
Since there is no sign-up or cancel fee. Maybe I should just start and stop the account around that...
something to keep in mind, companies like EA, and Activision are instituting first time buyer codes for alot of their newer games.
things like the next madden or Ncaa football games, and they UFC game that just came out will include a code which lets you play online similar to a CD-key for most pc games.
just food for thought if you are planning on getting games for the multplayer aspect, from gamefly or used..
