The Biggest "Drawback" About Living In America

Did anyone see Pen And Tellers Bull***** program on circumcision?

I instantly thought of this thread.

Quite a powerful and funny/entertaining show.

Well worth a watch if you have the means... its episode 1

Points I took away from the show:

Removing the foreskin makes sex less enjoyable.
Makes it harder for the bloke to "last longer" or "know when its going to happen".
And it makes the penis smaller.
Removal does not protect against AIDS or any other STD.
You do NOT need to do it if you are a Jew.
It scares the crap out of babies.
And is not nice.

They spoke to a rabi, who firstly explained the history of why they do it...

Then went on to state that being circumcised is "absolutly no reflection of Jewishness" or something along those lines. :)

The biggest point in the show for me was when they compaired it to female genital mutilation...

The UN (and other authorities) activly investigates and discourage mutliation of the female genitals, how come its ok for people to do this to men?

I see your point, but i think the female procedure is quite a bit more brutal with no cultural reference that i am aware of...

i saw some program a while back with little girls and young women (not infants) lined up with little or no proper anesthesia in a friggin tent... i think that is just straight up brutality.

The "tribes" people performing these rituals on women will see it as a cultural thing...

But I see where you're coming from.

I just think cutting parts off another persons body is a foul injustice.

If you want it for your child, atleast wait till they are old enough to decide if they want the procedure themselves.

yea, i am not sure now that it was the right choice now for my son... but it's done... and he won't remember.

i know for a fact that regardless if i wanted it or not, once i was grown up enough to understand it, no way in hell is any person alive getting close enough to my junk to cut it with a knife.

cept girls.. there alow to come and go as they please, but most times a simple pat down will allow me to check if there are any sharp objects.

Really? If it was less enjoyable why would a cut guy not be able to last as long? Sounds to me like he's having a better time :)

All those who had hair pulling good sex before the cut then had bad sex after please raise their hand. I bet you don't find anyone over the age of twelve who voluntarily had their willy whacked, especially once you knew what it was for. There goes the basis for a scientific comparison.

And hey, let's face it, only a certified madman would put the twig and giggle berries in the hands of another guy, worse yet a guy with a knife (or, god help me, a LASER) intent on using it!

And then again, I've know a couple guys over the years that DID have to have it cut when they were in their 20's.

A week in the hospital, excruciating pain the whole time, very expensive, and who knows what that's going to do to your psyche?

Huh? Who says it's "ok" to do this to men? Actually, infant boys, but i digress.

I have two boys, and i couldn't imagine doing anything to hurt them. I don't understand holding a day old child in my arms and thinking, "you know, let me just lop off part of his penis so he won't get teased in the locker room some day."

I just don't get it.

Its a simple matter of feeling.

As explained in the show:

The foreskin is packed with millions of nerve endings, more so than any other part of the body...

So by removing this, you get less feeling/enjoyment and some medical term I forget meaning that you can't judge, or its difficult to judge when the moment of impact will occur... :D

Yup, me neither...

Its seen as ok and usual in most of America (apparently).

I don't really know of anywhere else in the rest of the world where its seen as OK.

The only reason its done else where is for religious reasons, briss etc...
