Websites alienate Firefox users

Why would someone want to use different browsers anyways?

I mean really come on, FF might support CSS etc better, but only us on this forum care about that. Security? Thats almost a joke. oooooooooo dont hack me.

At the end of the day, people can pump browsers out and complicate the world, theres no point in taking a moral high ground saying "people should have choice". People can have choice, but dont complain when the site looks rancid. There is no point in a person choosing another browser. They can do it if they want, but wants the real point?

Like why do people bother? For us it might be good to say "i wish everyone used FF" but lets be fair, microsoft will always have IE tied to windows, its always gonna be the most popular browser.

And those who for some reason think.... hmmmm internet explorer is loading up every webpage perfectly, i tell you what, ill install a browser that dont load up pages pefectly :D!!!!

Choice, but i aint takin that persons choice on board.

You can go and buy a hydrogen powered car if ya want, but dont complain theres no where to refuel it.

Hydrogen powered cars are vastly superior technology, and their exhaust fumes consist of nothing but water vapour. Basically, they're the future of transport, the technology is just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up.

His point is that you are gonna be stuck in the middle of nowere with no hydrogen but still talking about how their better.

They might be better but useless with nowere to fuel it up.

Not so sure.. you can produce hydrogen with electrolysis pretty easily. The beauty of hydrogen-powered technology is that we might not NEED to rely on filling stations. :cool:

In some years, your fuel will be so expensive that even if there's a fuel station somewhere close to you, you will not have the money to buy it. And then in the not too far future, there will be no fuel at all and hydrogen and electric cars will be the only thing you see driving on the streets. ;)

change the world one people at a time. I've almost convinced everybody i know to switch to firefox, and they all are happy with it.

Btw, a Swiss car just made an incredible record with a hydrogen fuel cell. They made 5384 km with just one gramm of hydrogen (the equivalent of 1l normal fuel)!

With a little help from their friends at Opera and Safari, Firefox tried to put together a contender for a world record breaking attempt at a fart powered browser. They made it as far as Minot South Dakota, where they found out, nobody cares.

lol, and it shares similar properties to firefox too:
its slow, impractical and doesn't run well on highways :p

That's because in Switzerland, half of the roads are downhill. They can coast. And with that many people pushing, what do you expect? :D

They forgot to mention that it took 3 months to complete the course at an average of 3.5Km per hour.

my point was those browsers exist, much like alternative cars, the thing is, no one can be arsed using them even know they exist. The world aint waitin to catch up, no one really cares lol

FF offends me man.

Back to the subject in hand I think the only way that FireFox will ever over take any kind of market lead is when other companies for example ISP's include FireFox with internet setup CD's instead of IE then there will be a change.

I install FireFox as befault on all machines I fix for my customes without asking them first and all I get back in reply is ohh the browser thingy looks differant.

How many repeat customers do you get? Someone did that to me, I'd be going to someone else.

I'm beginning to think you guys across the pond are getting some neutered version of IE, cause I just don't have the problems you seem to have with it.

Generaly I don't have too many problems with IE, for me as a developer FireFox is better for what I dfo with all the extentions and it is alot faster at rendering pages.

The only major reason I install FF on my customers machines is the fact that FF can read RSS and I do have RSS feeds on all of my customers websites, it would be a shame for them to miss out on a service they are offering to their visitors themselves.

OK, but that's a specialty item. For mom and pop and all the other "just surfers" out there, IE is what they are use to and IE is what they are always going to use. When 90% of the worlds internet users don't even know how to change their screen resolution, it's unlikey you'll ever convince them to install and learn to use a new browser. They simply don't care as long as they can go to the poker sites or order their toys online using IE that came installed.

And don't overlook the real crowd who uses the internet, maybe more than any other group, and that's old people. They don't have the time to learn a new browser. It may have taken someone a year to get fairly proficient using IE. No one wants to go through that again, when you may only have a year left. LOLOL
