I originally started it for the Games of Gondor contest, then the miniclip one came along and I decided to do it for that contest. Finally I just decided I'd keep it for myself. =)

That's what it sez.
Hey, sorry to bring back this OLD thread, but does anyone remember who / which game won it? Was it anyone from Flashkit? I disappeared for a few months but I remember really looking forward to seeing the result of it.
From Miniclip's website
I wish I could see his entry... (or any of the entries for that matter...)Quote:

I am looking to be the main site for people to come and license games and I will be taking no Fees. All license fees from your paypal link will go directly to your account. When the site takes off I will license the best games to my site, to make sure the good developers are getting paid for their hard work.
www.flashtreasures.com (it wont be live for another week or so)

sorry if it sounds rude, but better someone tells you now while you can still tweak your concept rather than you have a hard awakening later on.
To be clear, this is a developer forum and here are lots of developers who licence their games to game portals etc here.
There are tons of game sites really. And on none of those you pay money to be hosted, so taking no fees isn´t really a hot pluspoint.
Its the other way round,on most sites you get money for a game.
You can of course try to create a site where you don´t pay anything for a game (and instead have a contest for the best game of the year and give that a reward),that could work out in some way. It will just not be really that attractive for people making games commercially/for their living. Though sites like newgrounds show that there is a group of people who is doing stuff just for exposure, better don´t expect to be the main address where people go to licence games to or from in the way you stated.
If you´re really all into this i suggest you reconsider your concept and try to offer developers a sure reward per game so that the site gets more attractive to pro developers.

When I said I take no fees, I meant I take no fees from 'licenses, sold off my site, all profit from licenses goes to the developers. I don't know if other sites do the same or not.
All I require is a valid PayPal account, and you have to be 18+, so you can receive payments, if your game license is purchased.
1.) You keep all ownership and copyrights to your game.
2.) You can license or have your game on as many other sites as you wish.
3.) You grant us use of your game for a minimum of a one year period.
4.) We host your game for you.
5.) All 'license' fees collected by your game, all go to you, we take no fees.
6.) We will hold the Flash Game Award every year and pay out $5,000 for top place, your game will automatically be entered and can win multiple times.*
7.) As we get more games we will be buying license from the developers and offering higher payouts and more pay places.
I am open to any good ideas you or anyone else might have to make this a better concept. Feel free to email me:
