Unless the Gunners gets someone in the mold of Viera into their midfield they'll never challenge for the title.
Lets see, based on composure, tenacity, awareness, agility, strength, speed, bad-ass-nesscity, skills, passing range, and the hair-do... nope. Can't say anyone in Arsenal's squad can ever replace Vieira.
Oh wait, maybe Gerrard could do the job. Hmmm...
... and Liverpool scrape their way to the top of the pile.
Just.
Couldn't agree more.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Liverpool riding high on lady luck. I couldn't say the same words for the time when Chelsea dug deep to win games or not lose games, back when they were champions.
Latest News: Torres out for a month. I can't imagine if Gerrard followed suit. It'll probably just be players playing soccer in Red Jerseys.... <-- harsh criticism, I know...
Did anybody catch the Livepool - Arsenal game yday?
Classic goals by Van Persie and Robbie Keane to equalize.
Where was Rafa misssing ?
FYI Rafa underwent an op to remove kidney stones. Still recouperating that fella.
Yes, both goals were really well taken, timed and delivered to perfection -- you won't get bored watching their replays over and over and over and over again.
Adebayor didn't deserve to get a red, but perhaps the referee deemed the feet stamping a 'harsh' foul, thus the obligatory 2nd yellow card, and despite being 1 man less, Arsenal played as if they were the ones with the extra man on pitch.
Liverpool needs to bring in Kaka to replace Kuyt. Gaaaah!
Well happy new Year 2009 to everybody !!!
Liverpool are still on top !
Guess they are going to win the title this time around.
The Reds outclassed the Blues yday !
Did anybody catch the game ?
Man Utd deserves it. The more the league goes on, the more I'm starting to feel that The Reds from Manchester might just nick it from Merseyside, this season.
Until Kaka or _____ (place game changing, match winning name here) arrives for Liverpool, I'm afraid that having just 2 match winners (Torres, Gerrard) is inadequate at the moment -- but I'm crossing my fingers, just.
Well it appears to be a two horse race right now between Liverpool and Man. U. The real fight this season is for the Relegation - more than 12 teams are separated by less than 6 points. Its going to go down to the wire.
Kaka will win you nothing!
Cesc Fabregas has warned Manchester City that spending 100 million pounds on Kaka does not guarantee success. The Arsenal midfielder has been stunned by revelations that City are poised to sign the AC Milan playmaker no matter what the cost it. Fabregas said: "A team is not built by the cheque-book alone. Money is not the most important thing in football.
"If the club is well run, and the money they now have is well spent on building a good team, Manchester City will be dangerous. But money cannot work a miracle overnight.
"For example, Manchester United have an expensive team. Yet they won the title because they were a strong group of players, who played good football and had the belief.
"Their philosophy of attacking football was clear and they were rewarded for that."
Fabregas went on to take a jibe at other English clubs when he added: "At Arsenal we prefer to develop young players and give them their chance, as I was given my chance when I was a teenager.
"Other clubs can spend what they like but we are happy with the way we do things here. I have to say I feel lucky to be at Arsenal and part of the club's philosophy.
I just threw up a little in my mouth.Quote:

As for Kaka, it takes more than 1 gold tooth to make a great smile, so lets see he how he fits in before they proclaim him the saviour.
Manchester City target, Kaka, has revealed he is more inclined to joining Manchester United or Arsenal than City. He said: "Arsenal and Manchester United are different from the other English teams. They play a bit more and are more open.
"They are different from the typical English teams who have a tall striker and hold on to the ball. That's more typical of Liverpool and Chelsea, who are very tactical sides - more English. Man United and Arsenal are more agile. They let other teams play and they play, too."
The Brazilian maestro went on to talk about his influences in life with his father, Bosco Leite the key man who decides most of his career moves. He has helped me with all my professional decisions and has always given me good advice. Obviously, my wife and my mum are always at my side, and there are friends, players and coaches. I listen to them all. If the advice is good, I take it on board. If it's not, I put it to the side."
Stoke ave been a revelation this season. Are you big fan of Stoke city to name yourself Stoke Laurie ?Quote:

Merseyside derby tonite -Liverpool vs Everton !
Can the Reds beat the Blues to go back to to the top of the table ?
Ooh, I see another sucker punch coming in for Rafa's men, unless they play 4-4-2 with Gerrard in the middle, otherwise there's just no weight in the middle of the park. And I have to add that Everton's in a really good run of form - I'd keep my money in my pockets for this game.
Currently, the top 4 teams are each separated by a point (ignoring games in hand of course). Everything is so close. At this stage, I wouldn't even rule Arsenal out of the race. What a season!
Im putting my money on Liverpool -
El Nino is going to blow Everton away !

They call me Stoke Laurie, because I come from Stoke, I have been a fan all my life, and I am really proud of the very credible performances whe have made, but I live in the real world, and know the only cup we are likely to get this year is for our team thermos! We haven't embarrased ourselves against any of the big 4, and out of those 8 matches, we only have 1 against Arsenal left, so it's looking good for the rest of the season.Quote:
