great finding, great 3d. i think it has been posted in teh cool sites board before. but i didnt see any intro in it. just this alien ship coming to ask which one u want to see.; broadbank or html. i tried both. their is no intro. sorry about that

finally a site that has a reason to be done in flash personally I think 2advanced.com is tight and all but they could have made about the same site just using html and a flash intro.

I usually cut and edit music from other sources.. and I make all the graphics and stuff myself. I'm going to start making my own complete music for flash stuff from now on though.

The intro on Whoswe.com is another alternative to a long drawn out intro. Just proves that something that is merely 8-10 seconds long can be just as effective as a long drawn out intro. To the point. sweet. quick.

teases you long enough to explore the rest of the site.

it's more like an "interactive" intro... ya know?

I agree with edgen, an intro doesn't necessarily have to be a movie-like animation.. The one on whoiswe is great.. i love the shootem up one ;)

i guess you guys are right. its just that when one thinks of intro, a small thing with animation, sounds, effects, time, comes in mind. most all of the intros are long so its tough to imagine that is an intro. so u can understand my misunderstanding.

personally, I like the whoswe.com site a lot.. very innovative, crisp, interesting, hey it's the First 9+/10 site I've seen sofar .. cooler music, and it woulda got a 10.. much more lively than that washed out 2a look ..

to tell you the truth, all these intros are good. Therefore I could categorize them. Why don't you go through them and then see what is good and whats bad and then make a list.

Contains thumbnails and comments for lots of cool sites. For Flash ones, look for a "Flash 5" icon beneath the entries in the Sites section.

And one more thing, dhawaltank, age doesn't matter when it comes to Flash. Being 12 wouldn't forbid you from creating great intros. Just continue learning new techniques, observe others, understand their methods and try to improve yourself.

People don't come up with legendary intros in a single day. Take a look at pbleper who has made numerous intros. And notice the differences in edgen's new intro and his old one. Learn from comments and mistakes. Put in some effort and you'll surely improve...

it appears you have also seen the thread I started in the site check forum. I request you, please don't bring that debate here.

i'm about 92% completed.. just got assemble all the media together. Its definately different than the current site. Intro should be pretty nice too.

well, when will it be out? It says its coming out in June 2002. it is june 2002 already. and according to edgen, it says it will be out on June 1st. today is 3rd june. when will it be done?

ha!! that's where I didn't want to screw up.. It says, June 2002. I said it would be out the first of June. Not specifically "june 1st" like the Fantasty Interfaces.

I'm still pumped about their release, but I guess they are not quite ready.

Also, keep in mind... when you have multiple clients, multiple amounts of things can go wrong and can cause your internal workings to be pushed back.

Now, don't get me wrong, a lot of people may not like the new AMS site and intro, but since it's mentioned in the thread I wanted to let you all know :)

Just checked in to see what the latest intros look like...and well they are awesome...but I can see that the fighting over..."Thats my design"...and "That looks like 2A" has not changed. Nuff said...keep up the good work.

I made the
"Presenting" text by first using making a piece of text that said
"Presenting," and making it grayed out on its own locked layer. Then, I
created a layer above it, and made another copy of the "Presenting" text,
not grayed out, and animated it so it gradually appeared from left to right,
letter by letter. I made a layer above that, and drew fat white shapes,
according to the grayed template below, and put softened fills around them,
with various colours.. I did that for a few hours until it looked good.
After that, I added another layer and animated a few sparks here and there.
Then I made a background and animated it to match the text.

A lot of painstaking work, but worth it, I think ;)
