Bit late to reply, but..
Make an image of 700 x 300. Tack creative's piece onto the left hand side and work your image off that. Once you're done, crop the image so creative's piece isn't there anymore. The final image should be 600 x 300 and it will contain only the work you have done.
So in the end if it was placed next to creative's image it would continue. Hope I made sense...

since you moved the pink rectangle over the left, it looks as if you are saying people should submit the 100 pixels of the previous volley plus 500 pixels of original work. you follow me?
you should move the pink rectangle over to the right by 100 pixels, and then add a 4th frame indicating what you are supposed to post - the 100 pixels on the right:

Nord, The gap is 100 pixels in wouters image because he used the previous 100px image in his whole 600px image... making his image only 500px wide.
so I could actually just move the other volleys back 100px ... but then people might think it was bias and make images any size they wanted. thats why i wanna keep things official.
Now, back to twitching in the corner ;)
