Hey I don't think you should kill the cows, but make them moo and stuff, perhaps make them fall over and get angry and things like that when you run into them.
Marmotte, I have a question. (i have tried soo many things...)
What code did you use for the diagonal movement.How did you make it so that, lets say you are in front of a tree, if you press UP LEFT you go around the edge of the tree?!
I have tried soo many different ways, but I can't get it!!
Say you had a move function, use two separate ones like this:
move(left_amount,0);
move(0,up_amount);
great game. do you make all the graphics for yourself?

the ability to buy a cow and put it in your garden is really a great idea! that's an aspect of the game to be discussed: side quests, or little things we can do other than playing the game from the begining to the end... great idea. (maybe if you buy a cow, it will follow you like the robbit, and keep saying moo mooo until you sell it again)...
about the "bad" german language, maybe you'll can do a better one? but wait, i'll have to put up better dialogs when i'll return home, in one or two weeks...
wel.. i played the game, and there is a slight problem.... nothing is there... Just Rocky woalking, and a "boss" looking area w/ no way in... That's all... What's wrong>?

sorry.. but there still is a problem. it acts like it saved a game, so i go to play it, and that's when i get the above problems... When i play a "blank" game, then it works fine.

Really love your game marmotte... I was playing it and saw that if you were idle for awhile it played an animation, I was just wondering how that works. Also, when you slide across the puddle it shows an animation of Rocky running... One more thing if you stand on the puddle and attack the puddle animation stops.
Is the number of hits to kill the bad guys random?
Only I tyhink it would be better if it were a set number of hits for each bad guy. Then you can have them getting stronger as they go into the game.

yes, but i want the french (original) dialogs to be rewritten...
damn... that game is really too much for a one man show... i don't mean to give up, but... well, sometimes i want to try something else... some other project, less consequent.

...i think i'll put some parts of my game (key scripts, hitTest and so) open source.
i don't know how to manage all that work only by myself; creating an entire and good rpg is very hard...
and an open source part will enjoy a lot of people here ^^
my thought is also to change the graphics (riping golden sun?), or making graphics by myself. it also means bye bye rocky... also, the game will be more interesting with a bigger window... mmmmh i have to think seriously about all that elements.
if you have suggestions, don't hesitate to post.

The open source idea would probably please many people, and it would definitaly lighten the work load for you.
About changing the graphics, I guess, it would be okay, but I really think you should keep rocky! He is awsome.
A bigger window would have some advantages, but I don't think it should be too much bigger than the games current size..
i like the letterbox view!
maybe it wouldnt be too hard if you based your graphics around what you already have
and i say dont go completely open source, cos the fact of the matter is that most people will just change the graphics and call it theirs, sad but true. if you want to help i would split it up into the different aspects, comment it well and have those o/s

yes, the rocky character is some kind of... essential. without him, my game will not be the same. but again, he is a ripped character. i'll have to take a decision.
believe me, i really want to begin new projects, less consequent, like a street fighter clone, or some bubble bobble games...
i hope that the fact of posting some open source of my game is not a way to give it up.

Yeah Rocky is quite essential...maybe if you re-desighned him? Kept him as a racoon but altered his looks a bit? I dunno it could work. Why sudden decision to change graphics? You wouldn't do it when I said to.
