I hope English isn't your first language. If it isn't, then OK you don't understand what I'm talking about. if it is, you're a bit slow.

Lux, if you're reading this could you give us an update - would be great to see how you're getting on with this or if you've decided to knock it on the head... there's a lot of interest in the engine as it showed so much promise of doing something really exciting (and big!) with flash...

Please try to calm down and stop posting if you dont have anything important to say on the subject. You can use Coffee Lounge to chat and discuss anything not related to games and Flash.

I've actually came across the recent replies of that thread...
No, I haven't continued further : I had an insane amount of freelancing toping my fulltime job, so I didn't had any time for any personnal project
The next thing in line is to finish the remake of Barbarian, that is 90% complete - once this will be over, I'll decide what to focus on next - I feel coming back on a RPG of some sort, whever it's an update of Two Kingdoms, or an declination of this engine - so in a sense, yes, I might keep up on this engine, but I haven't decided yet : Barbarian first ... :)
---
On a side note, the fact that no coder was seriously considering commitment sounds like a big drawback to me : I'm not sure something this size can be done by myself alone, I said it before, i'm a poor coder, so I don't really feel like spending months where someone better than me would spend days - Two Kingdoms would be definitely something easier to update ...

Grats on the "job" Tony !!! I believe you will be a fine mod ! Good luck :)
i only came across the thread when it resurfaced in the last week or so... while i'm not a proffessional flash-coder i'm not a newbie, either. I'd be interested in lending a hand at the very least. At the moment i'm just tinkering with various bits and pieces and would like to sink my teeth into something - i don't have any freelance commitments anymore so have the time to put into something like this....
anyway, good luck with you're other stuff, and let me know if you want a chat about how you want to take the engine further.
either way, thanks for replying... all the best for now!
Well, my last freelance project has been completed 2 days ago ( http://www.onewizardplace.com - the guy deserves some pimpin :) ) - so let me catch up with Barbarian first, then, we will talk about this again , I juts don't want to give a deadline I couldn't keep :)
luxregina, i really would like to know where you got those images of the character because i just cant find any like that.
Okay sorry guys, but this is going to be a really way off question but it was something I was meaning to ask.
Joshman, your signature says that you have a gazillion posts on your other account. If you wrote that as your signature, then why dont you just use your other account. Because you obviously want people to know that you have a lot of posts since you put it in there, so then you should just USE the account rather then telling them about it...it just seems to make more sense that way =P
Haha sorry, it was just bugging me as I read through this thread. I'll shut up now! =D
-Ostil-
lol..... hes got a point there
The character comes from World of Warcraft - the ground texture and the house have been made by me - The character is temporary, just wanted to get the feel of it before starting a heavy modelization / rendering ...
That would be good to keep that thread clear of attacks of any sort : be adults, the last question has no purpose other than starting another flamefest : If you "really" want to know, you could have as well sent him a private message
yep,listen to the man :)
thx luxregina oh and by the way amazing art work i couldnt draw that house if my life depended on it. and what program did you use to make the house any ways?
The house is a 3D model : I did the modelization in Amapi, and the texturing / rendering in swift3D, tough, I intend to use 3DSmax from now - you can see another, earlier version of the model here : http://grafikdezign.free.fr/flashkit/model.htm
Lux...IF you are going with it...why Blitz3d instead of java or director?
Eventhough I used to, I don't beleive anymore in Director - If I was to free myself for Flash constraints, it wouldn't be to fall in Director's ones.
Blitz has the advantage to be a pretty straight forward open source engine, so I know I could count on some communtiy files to accelerate my learning curve ...
Though, I'd rather keep the whole thing Flash ... just because I love Flash :) and because a project like this one would at least have a techno-wow factor :)
nice work on the website lux. did you do the images for the book on the website?
Nope, just did the site, and the logo :)
