I almost want to quote my previous post;)
Yes, well done. You put money on it?
Australia's through to the round of 16. w00t!!! BRING ON ITALY!!! :D
2-2 against Croatia, man the ref was shocking. 3 yellows and 2 red cards to Simunic who'd refused to get off after the first red card. Sheesh.
Wonderful to have first timers Ghana and the Aussies in the second round.
Australia ae going to trouble Italy while Ghana torment the Brazilians in the round of 16.

No more "Go Home Yanks" signs to create though... so sad.
Its One World - One Cup - One Dream - No Superpowers.
The best of the European countries competing with war ravaged African nations; drug riddled South American countries ; the oil rich Arabian countries... all participating for the glory and everything is forgotten on the pitch - whether you are a superpower or from the third world . Thats Football for you. Breaking all human barriers of color, caste, religion.
Bull****. The cry "Yankees Go Home" was so regular, if I were on the US team, I'd just hop the first plane back home. Hostile doesn't even start to explain some of that behavior at times.Quote:

The US sucks at football/soccer. There were some rowdy people saying "Yankee Go Home" chants every now-and-then... and the US lost. Oh well... see ya'll next time!
Damn right!Quote:

Doesn't change my tone about going home in the first damn round though.Quote:

I actually felt the love.
You really think that people care about US politics or anything like that in the World cup?
Brazil played a great match yesterday! Ronaldo played great, after all the critic the last weeks. It will be a hard match for ghana next! I'm also looking forward to see Italy vs. Australia. Australia have played great football so far, but I think Italy is going to be very hard to beat.
No unfortunately;)Quote:

Seriously... It's stupid to think that the referee hates bush and therefore gives a penalty kick to the other team. Many americans think that the entire world cares so much about them and their politics, even though most people, in this case, just care about football.
I am not American. I am German from Dortmund living in America. I know how Germans feel about Bush and his government like many Americans feel about them and this transfers easily to the people themselves. And a referee is only a human being.
But don't let's talk about politics here :)
I am looking forward to the next games.
I don't personally think so. I'm just saying something about the "Yankee Go Home" bit... not a damn thing about politics.Quote:

And it may or may not have had anything to do with Bush.
I do have to say though the "Yanqui" spelling is going to end up on a t-shirt though... I gotta use that!
I agree. Let's not talk about politics. Personally, I think USA is out of the world cup because their team isn't good enough, and not because of bush.Quote:

Of course I wish Allemania (we will see tomorrow, if they are a step closer) and how about England or Brazil. It's a conservative guess. :)Quote:

Interesting (because to see the other teams loosing) would be Ghana:Australia for example, but rather unlikely.
Allemania... a step closer :)
They will either play against Mexico or Argentinia.
Argentina :DQuote:
