O.K. guys, I'm up. Nice pass (or whatever we are calling these) clicky. I like it.....I got a few ideas the second I looked at it. I should have something up later tonight.
Oh, are we signing these?
if by signing, you mean adding your own name... then its optional. half the people have done it though...
Wanna do something really insane? How about a zoom mural like the one they're working on over at 12stone? Looks pretty cool eh?Quote:

only two more people to go here....the suspense, my god the suspense...
A perfect volley EV. right size/direction...
Also, you chose a very brave transition, and it worked out very nicely. And you left the right side of the volley fairly clean for the next person. very impressive.
next up: fruitloops
after that: [the finale] dustar.
Dustar. are you prepared to complete the looping image by linking to the previous AND first volley? If not we should have someone who is up to the challenge in 13th place or something.
(PS: before anyone gets the wrong idea, nobody has seen the first 100px (on the left side) of the first volley... that is where the last person will have to loop to. The last person will be provided with a psd file containing the sections they have to loop to and the area to draw in... to avoid confusion)
Also. Gerbick, are you alright with me sending you the final product at the end so you can host it for us? (7200x300 pixel image) via ftp or something? maybe you could put it in that flash viewslider thing... or ill do it... whatever...
ill just shut up now
if you want it done in Flash, I'll suggest that you do it. me and Flash just don't see eye to eye.
oh crap, it's my turn? i'll have to get on it!
gorillafarm.com would have you saying otherwise... that site is the fuggin' bomb :P (did you put the flash there? if so, i need say no more)...
but yeah, ill do it if need be.
gorillafarm.net is my site... but that portfolio is something else. not made by me.
Yep, I'm up for that challenge, its a cool idea .. I'll try my very best. Can't wait :)Quote:

Sorry, this is taking me longer than expected... my mum's computer broke down and there's no fury greater then a computer-illiterate person without their oh so precious email. But I am working on my image every so often when I have a few minutes.

Calling Fruitloops....
You are wanted in the Arena...
Repeat Fruitloops to the Arena.
Lol, I'm here now, finally got some time to myself this evening! So I should be able to get it done tonight.
Geez, some people (my mum) just don't understand the importance of getting a volley/entry into The Arena!
FINE! *cry* here is my 100 in an attachment. I am uploading it in a second just wanted to get it up here... PM'ing the full as well.

That looks cool fruitloops, really moody...
Its 5.15pm here, I just finished work and my mates are down the road at the pub, so I'm just about to go there. If I get home tonight then I'll get started on the final volley....er that's once TheWaste sends me the beginning 100 px.
nice job fruit... very good work on the transition and style.
another entry of perfect size/direction...
(Im just a bit confused on the theme ;) )
Heres a little number I like to call, 'the final volley'...
This one goes out, to Dustar.

(edit: wouter, hurry the hell up and fix your volley. puhleaaaase? :D )
so wait, once dustar (i envy him for getting to finsih this btw ;)) fills in the blanks in 'the final volley' and wouter fixes his image its all done?
if so... *drools with anticipation*
Yep! You've got to give props to TheWaste; this shaping up to be one of the fastest battles I've seen (except the three days I took, I'm slow, damnit) from/in Flashkit for quite sometime. Let alone one of the few to finish (I suppose we don't have other forums holding us back because of missed letters this time, though)!Quote:

So, thanks, Waste!
so... who's gonna put this bad boy together in Flash with a cool inertia mouse over - think yugop.
and when are we starting v2 of this?
I'm gonna use fire and clouds ya' bastiches!
thanks fruitloops, but the real props should go out to all the entrants who put up their volleys so quickly and followed my pathetic instructions so well. :D
im also really suprised we havnt really had any real absentees so far.
well, just dustar (and wouter) to go. I cant wait :D
dustar: if I didnt make it clear, repace the red-ish box with the white text on it is where you make your volley. the box is 600px wide.
thanks to all the entrants for being so co-operative, following my crappy instructions, being patient with my usual lacks in judgement, and pumping out some awesome volleys. rock on flashkit ;)
yeah, ill do it... you could probably find someone better at doing flash to make it. By the way, if i do make it, im gonna want everyone to give me their bio's... (eg: Name, username, comments on own volley, and shout-outs)Quote:

(edit: as for v2... im not fussed who starts it, or when... this one was kind of a trial version really. so I just hope the host of the next game gets a longer one happening. this one is 7200 px long of linked artwork...
but I will start a new one maybe a couple of weeks to a month after depending on how busy i am by then... for now though im pretty tied with work...)
cheers to waste...this has been awesome. i can't wait to see the final.
and wouter, where are you? you haven't even been back in here to say, "sorry guys, it's coming."
i'm really starting to get nervous...
Several things we can do:
a) Wait for woutz to fix his image
b) post his image as-is (500px long...)
c) have someone else fill the gap...

Great idea......I think everyone should submit their bio no matter who ends up doing the final flash loop.
I'd offer, but I just don't have the extra free time right now. Starting a remodel on the living room :smoov:.
since the flash has to be built, why not give him till thats done...Quote:

I agree the yugo scroller would be nice for this mural
link
used it before the as is old but still a solid fla to work from.
or if you want a simpler approach try jeremy bunton (i think) horizonal scroller
relies more on tweening so bigger file size but easier to constuct if your not as minded
linky
I wouldn't be opposed to just letting it go at 500 pixles as long as it doesn't throw a kink in the flash development.Quote:

just make sure you put "professional slacker" somewhere in his bio ;)

naw, he's a busy lad with paying contracts, what not.
he knows about this though. I've bothered him enough.
Well that's good. I'd hate to have to grab the mic again and >TAP!< on it.Quote:

i guess sooner or later we're gonna need it.Quote:

good to know wout is busy with $$$, but tell him this is far more important
There is this scroller, too... any more?
those are all relatively simple scrollers to make. I can picture in my head how all of them are made...
I was hoping for something a little more jazzy... but those scrollers would probably make a good base scroller and I can just add effects/transitions/crap on top of it...
once again warning everyone that im not the best at flash...
Well... EVERYONE SUBMIT YOUR BIO'S...
Flashkit Name: (dont worry ill fill that in...)
Full Name: (even just first name if you are worried about privacy...)
Comments: (Techniques used for own volley, problems faced, insipiration, etc)
Shout-outs to: (Wanna say 'hi' to someone while you're at it?) :p
Are we PM'ing these or just posting them on here?
Im not fussed. Ill check both. prehaps if you dont want to reveal it or something, PM me. if not... just put it up ere'
Is there a collection of these images somewhere in the 10 pages of nonsense? Really awesome idea, and from the previews of what I saw, turning out amazing.
