Bare with me. I've been out for a while
nice work nepzap, you did well recovering the colour and tones on the mans clothing.
and i'm liking the glowing swirly things :D
If i had to find something to pick at, it would be the typography. Not that i don't thinks its suitable, just think you could of took it a little further maybe... :S
Nice images people. Nepzap I need to know how you got that line so clean and then the fades and color transitions oh and that font too that sam is in
here is a little tut that I made. Hope it helps.

I think Lefteye has a monkey fetish. :domo:(closest smily to a monkey)
It's a reoccurring theme with him.
For Lefteye...
Merry Christmas Everyone... wait... don't go.

I think ill go next on this one
Hey peoples sorry for the delay I got hit with a few projects i have to get knocked out if someone wants to take it My apologies for the disruption of the flow of of the battle if im freed up then ill go the next turn.
ill go next :D
as someone that hasnt contributed an image in a while i know i shouldnt talk but the last couple have been a bit of a letdown. juju and groupof1 you guys are capable of so much better.
I'll agree with you silver about my last image. It was a quickie that I was poking a little fun at Lefteye with and was meant to be more tongue in cheek than a high quality image. It is a reference to Christopher Walkin on SNL. He played a character called "The Continental", FUNNY Stuff.
Anyway, I actually take it as a compliment that you called me out for not putting up higher quality work. I promise to do better.
yes i did a half-ass job on that last one. i realized i had to go away for 2 days but didnt want to leave everything hanging, so just quickly put together and posted. Ill put more effort into it next time
Let's steer this ship back to more savory waters! :yarr:

I have next.
By-the-way groupof1 and Jujumon I agree with silverx2.
I have seen you two drop some fresh joints. If you guys don't have time to drop... it's all good...
Don't compromise the quality of your drops.
Peace.

EDIT: just realize I somehow lost 50 pixels off the edges. Trying to see if I can restore them right now...
EDITx2: they're back
ill have next la
Hmmm... I like it Cap'n. Interesting. The textures are nice. Is there a story behind this? Or inspiration for it?
Thanks! Glad you like it :)Quote:

Specifically a forest at night in the winter, in a sort of creepy abstract way. It's sort of supposed to be like looking at it as a kid through window pane that's fogged up from your breath; just imaging what sort of "terrible" beasts could walk the forest on such a night.
nice one gerbick.
how you do the blood? brushes or it's from another picture?
The skull, blood, bullet holes are all separate photos. Minor textures, brush work, extra font overlays and copying the prior distressed/pixelated brushes are all layered on top.
looks good Gerb. Great job on joining the separate photos.
They are really seamless; especially the skull and bullet hole layers.
Jujumon, I know you're probably going to get upset with a critique that comes from me; however I feel compelled to do so.
Your images, this one and the winged karate one, lack detail and suffer from a bit of soft-focus. Your details get way too soft and the focus is not where it should be. Your images have to invite people to dive deeper whereas I can glimpse and see that there aren't any deeper details due to the soft focus. The folds in her dress could have been more pronounced. There is too much of a slight grey contrast on her and him in the last image.
Your text tends to look tacked on. Like it's an afterthought. I've always sorta "preached' the invisible "V", "L" or "Z" of layouts. If your layout was an "L", it leaves 50% of the image to the left out of the equation.
A more worked in detail and better masking and composition would really pull your cohesive ideas together. And that's where you do shine... you have stellar ideas. I just would love to see the type and composition pull up your level of creativity.
Again, it's just a critique.
are the bride a groom one stock? she looks b/w yet the grooms neck looks slightly peach and almost looks like a tiny rose on his back.
my guess is they were both shot?
gerbick was kind a harsh... but anyway, it's these stuffs that helps us improve :)
silver, where did you get that cute little avi? :D i saw someone on FK with a bender avi, i think it's argonaut...
***UPDATED***

Interesting point about what Gerbick said. When I studied photography, there was a theory of composition that says the photo is divided into thirds. (think tic tack toe) And your composition should fill 2/3's of the image. Basically in the same type of patterns Gerb mentioned. (L, Z, V.)
(The photography gurus are probably burn me on this one. It was a long time ago people.)
Remember that white space is not a bad thing either. Every point and pixel doesn't have to be alive with color. Haven't you ever been to someone's house that just had way to much crap in it? It's not comfortable.
Harsh? Never take an design class; I've heard harsher things on the first day.Quote:

Well... she's supposed to look ashen and spectral. Although the white skin in the final is not as crisp as I wanted it to be.
I will admit that typography is an area that I need to work on. So no argument there.
I am going to repost this in a bit after some modifications.
I understand that quite well. However, spectral would be more "glowing"... ethereal and softer contrast. It's more harsh due to the sharp shadow lines and the noise along the shadow lines - looks like a very harsh texture is popping up due to either artifacts or noise and it's pulling out what should be a smooth line to a more bumpy line.Quote:

If I have time later today, I'll post a "remix" of the image. The image could be smoother and more detailed, as opposed to being overlaid and too dark.
