great image zac I'm digging the dept of the image... but I'm not completely sure about the font treatment, maybe a little more work on that would bring the whole image together. I know that font treatment can be very challenging.

I like your volley a lot... sick! The only thing is this one in my opinion may need a little text. I'm not particularly a fan of applying to images text all the time but for some reason this one seems to need it.

Nice work 1stbite, a bit dark for my tastes in some areas, but that's probably just me. :)
Yeah bit of a gamble on the darkness.. not my usual cup of tea but seemed to work at the time :-D
everyone has their monitors set to different brightnesses so hard to calculate what is too dark, but I wanted it as dark as I could get away with to give it that hint of light in a dark room feel. :-)

Actually, it went through at least five phases, the first involving pain and blood, the second involving a beach, the third and fourth involving Mayan temples, and finally the last one, where at the last second I cut the temples, and made a few tweaks on the rest.

your image is impeccable... the only thing I would work on is the type treatment. That is something that is also hard for me.

Thanks nepzap! I agree, after I had my hard drive crash, I lost my valuable library of fonts. I need to build that back up. :)
I really like your image, but for some reason, that purple glow around "take hold" seems... distracting to me. I *think* it is because the rest of the image is sorta grainy, and the glow around the type seems much cleaner and smoother. :)
maybe one of the heavy weights like gerbick, ctranter, fearless, ondraedan, flashl!ght and creativeinsomnia can help some brothers out? :)
The text is much better, I like that image more without any type at all. :)
Nepzap, I am really diggin your pic there. I like the grainy feel of it. My only nitpick is that I would give more glow/light to his face, as if there were a soft light making it's way under the brim of his hat from the tree. But really it is a great image.
