nice ultramarine sprite! i got a thought of doing warhammer flash game, but that was long time ago.
anyway, if we gona let ppl to use those sprite that are submited to the competition. shouldnt we do all the sprite in one walk cycle as well?

we need to get this thing here started, and sort some rules, or we'll spend forever discussing it all, and lose the fun of the comp...

How about these as some rules this time round?
1) Hero / Villian sprites to be no bigger than 40x40 pixels...
2) Boss character sprites, no bigger than 100x100 pixels...
3) No restrictions on the file size (in kb). upload images to your own fileserver, or to imageshack
4) No more than 15 colours to be used in the creation of a sprite...All entries must show a small grid of the colours used as well, (can be uploaded as a separate gif)...
5) No restrictions on if the sprite is animated or not...
6) Any view of the character is welcome, (face forward, side views, running, jumping, top-down view, etc...)
7) Enter as many times as you like, but only one post per person in the thread...Edit your post as many times as you like with however many entries you want to include, (editing up until the finish date of the comp!)
8) Voting will be based on your collection of sprites as a whole. If someone designs 1 sprite and someone else designs 10 sprites, you have the right to judge the work as you see fit...
9) Voting points awaded as follows...
1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 6 points
3rd place = 4 points
4th place = 2 points
5th place = 1 point
10) You can only vote once!
(If those rules seem fair enough to everyone, then I'll start up a new thread with Comp 2)...
So how about the theme of zelda style / gauntlet style characters...

I guess 16 colors+black and white is a good choice :)
