im in, just dunno if i can make the deadline
here is my sprite...its my first one!
It still needs a little touching up, and highlights, but i wanted to prove that I will have a sprite today! And I would like feedback, criticism. Also, how do i resize to 70x70 without distortion??

now i´m thinking which of my free time thingies i should finish first..
and yep,i meant golden axe :)
(really a shame i forgot the name,as it was one of the few arcade machines i spent lots of money to play it for a while when i was 15 :) )

well, i draw mine on paper first...so how many pixels are in an inch? I'm gonna need to draw it to scale on paper so i can resize to proportion.Quote:

edit -- Nevermind....i found the answer

i guess officially, this is my submission

unofficially, it still needs a little work, but im gonna start animating it. I suppose it ain't too bad for a first pixel sprite!!
Here is some info on her:

it looks like you drew her...in flash??
actually, i followed RipXs instructions...
drew on paper
scanned into photoshop
traced
colored in

it doesn't really look like a classic sprite cause it isn't 70x70. And I guess the size makes it look kind of vector too....
Actually you can shrink it without distorting it in Photoshop, not sure about programs like Paintshop Pro or other easy to use Raster editing tools. In Photoshop you can do it by going to Image, then select Image Size and shrink the biggest part of your image to 70 pixels, either the heighth or the width (for most it would be heighth unless your character happens to be "Fat Bastard" from Austin Powers). Make sure though that you've selected constrain image properties (the size of the image) so that when you do modify the heighth to 70, it will automatically resize the width so that it won't stretch it to fit. Just my tip.. as I reread it though it makes me want to make a mini tutorial on how to do this... hmm.. Yeah just some advice on shrinking down the picture, good luck with it, I'll be following this thread on my own.

If you need help on following my directions just buzz me with a post or something and I'll make a quick couple images guiding you through the process.
yeah, i thought about doing it your way actually....but as the height would be 70, the width would be significantly smaller than 70. And I thought the idea was to keep the sprite to fill the 70x70 as much as possible....so i just took the width down to 70 and left the height in proportion...(like 120 or something like that)
thanks though!
here's a character i've been making for a new animation - thought might as well post him :)

Draw picture,
Scan Picture,
Resize to 70 pixels,
Add new raster layer,
Trace image outline,
Copy layer to new image,
Fill image,
Add light effects.
