What I don't get is what exactly do the protestors want? They want apologies from Denmark's government? the incident... there's a thing of freedom of speech that goes both ways. the comic was in bad taste. the response, bad taste. can't take a joke, don't give any. burning effigy's and flags is just as tasteless as that comic was. even if they were to retract the comic, make statements, what now? can the retractions be made from the other side too? can't put the ashes back together as a whole.
my point? the reaction wasn't the same. I've seen jokes about other religious figures and I don't recall myself taking the stance to burn all involved in effigy.
