hey. I like the engine you guys are using, very creative. I pretty much just found this thread and i was tryin to use percy's engine he was showing off, but, though I got the landscape and everything, I cant move. Any suggestions? :confused:
download blink or strilles fla. their a lot better (although based on percypeas). its very hard to help without any code. if u copied the code straight into ur flash, then it should work

Can this be done with Flash 5 ??? cuz i tried the fla and it doesn work
It uses dynamic masks, so it won't work in anything lower than Flash MX.

The whole engine can be realized in Flash4, but of course with a lot of modification :o)
The masks can be duplicated. There is no need to draw them with Actionscript.

i cop flash mx 2004 and the z_mapping.fla says: unexpected data. how come?

hey! i am having a little problem with the z-mapping... The maps don't load right... It keeps skipping and jumping into maps when it's not supposed to... and the maps don't load right too! Can someone help?

It's a geocities site... if the swf file doesn't load.. copy the url and paste it into a new window, and load it...
the entire stage consists of 20 pieces! the original z-mapping track only had 7 pieces... this one has 20.

hi, a couple of people have asked me for my z_mapping version with the trees and characters. unfortunatly a can't find it anymore so if anyone downloaded it and still has a copy could you post a link.
in case anyone doesn't have a link i've uploaded a game i was workin on (a tank game). now remember that this game is in it's earliest stages and needs an enormous amount of work to complete.
my server is always chock-a-block so i'll prolly only have it there for a couple of days.
everyone is welcome to use it (and any of the models in it) as they please.

It's coded in AS2 and I must say, I begin to love this new flashscriptinglanguage :o) I think I can reduce the time per frame to 1/10, but its never going to be realtime.

But today, I recoded the mode7 engine in AS2 and found a solution to readout the (polygon-)height from a given GroundPoint. What to say...
