BTW.. havin probs uploading/recieving from the ud server, all i keep getting is 563 bytes then the connection stalls. any ideas anyone? I've tried several times over the last 6 hours, but alas, to no avail :~(
i belive they are having a lot of traffic and possibly some problems...just exit the program and start it back up again, it will work eventually.
i had this same problem yesterday...it would not go past 1407 and on the 5th time to restart the program it worked.
on a different note:
why do the judges need the fla...can't you just judge by the swf? not trying to cause trouble but just curious.

can some one please explain me more about this thing, i read the first page of the thread and din't understood a thing, went to the link but don't get it.

G'day Raven, we're all glad you decided to try out the boards, and glad to have you on the team :) I am sorry to hear of your relatives, as starchie said there are no words that anyone can say to make it better, but at least you are among friends who share similar experiences, i'm sure everyone has had an experience with cancer in some form.
The servers will be down sometimes as they are currently upgrading, and have encountered an unknown bug while upgrading, so they have had to have a couple of attempts, that's why the servers have been down a couple of times. As soon as the ugrade is complete, everything will be better, I think it is over now, the site is up and you can upload/download work units. You will notice a difference in the stats area which has been heavily upgraded
Why do the judges need the .fla? it is common in many competitions for the fla file to be sent in. We can look at how it was designed to further see the quality of design. I'm pretty sure that all competitions on FK require the fla to be sent in.

Ok, i'll give you a quick and simple explaination :)
You download a program, and install it on your computer. The program then downloads work units, which are bits of information that your computer analyzes. The program is performing tests on the information, it is simulating a real life scenario of protiens and molecules. It is testing to see how molecules react to certain things, searching for molecules that react in a certain way. The whole idea of this is to test molecules with different things that will be used to create a drug that will cure cancer. There are so many different combinations and molecules to be tested that it would take a HUGE computer to test them all, and that would cost way too much money, so hundreds of thousands of computers around the world are being used to search for a cure for cancer
basically, your computer does the research, then sends the results back to the central computer, and you don't have to do a thing. You just sit there knowing you are making a difference while your computer searches for a cure for cancer.
The program will run either as a screensaver, or run in the background depending on how you configure it. If you choose to run it in the background, it will run on spare CPU resources, meaning you will hardly notice any slowdown in your computer.
It is very easy to use, as you don't do anything just set it up and it does everything by itself. You can join our team, or create your own or join another team. This project is supported by many respectable organisations such as INTEL, the national institute for cancer research, Oxford University and United Devices.

Just a thought guys and girls, but what are you doing for yourself to reduce the risk of cancer?
Cancer is increasing, but whats causing this increase? Is the change in life style over the decades?
If you think about the crap we put through/on our bodies, its should be clear where were going wrong.
For example: Recent articles in the press and on the Internet have warned that underarm antiperspirants or deodorants cause breast cancer. But The U.S. Food and Drug Administration have said there has been no research/testing to prove this article is correct!
But if you think about it, our bodies sweat for a purpose, 1. to cool our bodies down, 2. to excrete toxins from the body.
Antiperspirants stop your body from sweating and therefore your body isn't able to do its job! If bad toxins are left in your body, what happens to it then??? Maybe it does contribute to breast cancer!
This is just a theory but it kinda makes sence, doesn't it?
I was also shocked to learn that Men can get breast cancer aswell as women!
I'm just waking up to what i've done to my body in the last few years. I've picked up some bad habits and haven't really been looking after myself!

I think we all need to pay more attention health information. There's some interesting facts out there, such as:
White men have four times the risk than black men of developing testicular cancer.
I thought this was a joke, but its has been medically proven!
Maybe we should put some of these reports on the Team Flashkit web site, kind of a health check section given members more general information about cancer?

thanx for that interesting information juels, i shocked a few friends into not wearing deoderant with it :) i'm sure they'll reconsider though when people yell at em for smelling. You are right though, i hadn't really thought of it. You are stopping a natural process that is obviously there for a reason when you wear anti-persperant

the adsl connection comes courtesy of eircom the irish telecom provider, and seeing that i live in their technology testing town, they have selected my company to be one of the test sites and therfore the connection is free:D:D:D:D:D
this should be the case untill at least next year, by which time i shall be unable to go three minutes without checking the coffee lounge im sure:)
btw is there a way to hook up my wifes computer as well so that we both donate points to the starchie account, hers is a 500 so that might make a difference

hmm, you are the only person who has had this problem so it must be your computer. I was looking over the site and the only solution i could see was to try accessing the site with only 1 browser window open. The site often takes unusually longer than other sites to load, or even to start to load so give it 20 seconds and wait to see if something happens

I just joined up,so I could do something productive with my resources,
but I've got a prob though after going through the documentation for the app, I found I was also signed up for another scheme if you check your device manager you'll find you are also signed up to exodus web performance testing...
which is another task which checks stability of web sites.
Now the prob I've got is I signed up to this to help in the cure for cancer,not to make some company cash.
Now if you think about it the reason united devices must've
set up this service is to get a whole load of peoplke to download thier utility...not because they care about a cure for cancer but so they can have a large user base which they can then exploit to run services for websites for a fee
I'm sure this would have been the idea in the first place not .....how can we help cure cancer but how can we get a large amount of people to download a app....I'm really pissed off by this ...it just proves that companies won't do anything without a profit.....ok sure so the money they make goes in part to prizes and a donation to charity but a large part will go to united devices....how much do you think they're charging the sites for this service?
personally I feel this is wrong .My advice to anyone who feels the same is ...go to the device manager and deselct the exodus service....this'll mean you won't be eligible for prizes and a donation......but personally I feel better now....I REALLY DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF PEOPLE MAKING MONEY SUBVERSIVLY LIKE THIS....IT SEEMS EVIDENT THIS COMPANY IS MORE INETERESTED IN PROFIT AND EXPLOTING A HONEST SERVICE

I am ufficialy a member of Flahskit Team for the research of a cure for cancer.
I have two computer the one i work with that is 1 ghz and another one 900mhz, i guess that if i put the two of them together it could work pretty good, and my hubby too, he has a 700mhz plus one at home another 1ghz, one program alone can work an all of the or should i install it in each one.
