Not that I ever do anything this good, but....
Looks like more of the same to me. I think the only big leap forward is with the backend.
Billy Bussey's site showed a huge leap forward from his last in its design. This one is just a babystep forward in my opinion from their last site.
I would say this version is only a gradual step over the last site. It packs alot of great design but at the same time falls short of being anything really outstanding. It's also quite generic, will we ever see originality prevail ?

I want to cover all my ass here. I realize, appreciate and respect the fantastic skill of 2A. I see this as constructive criticism not as an insult.
But my God I have gone blind.
The colors are unsettling at best. You simply can't read teal on crimson.
The fonts are so small I can't read them. I really dislike that some text is meant to be read and some isn't. I just don't read any of it to save myself the headache.
There is so much going on that I can't figure out what is what. You need a guide just to map out the sections.
The little arrow things look like buttons but aren't.
The Demo Reel is pretty cool as are the desktops.
And who is the Ninja dude with the ski goggles?
It has some submarine spaceship things . . . :(

I kinda agree with sirhoff to some extent.
For me as a designer i think it is cool, but my brother didn`t know what the site was for or how to navigate trough it.
But i think the design of the site itself is beatiful but the navigation is a bit TOO cyber if you ask me. Just picturing myself a 80 year old trying to order one of your services hahaha .... well bad example ! :)
My opinion on this.
I was majorly let down. Maybe I expected something different, something more from the new version. I thought the demo reel was nice, but the color scheme was a little off in my opinion. (But then again, my monitor's color adjustment isn't all that great). I was looking at it at 1024x768, and I still had to scroll to see some content (not much).
The graphics were pretty intense though.

What happend to this thread? when i posted this morning it was 1 page long and my post was 3rd down. I then come back and the thread has gone, i come back 30 mins later and its here again and 17 pages long, and my post is on page 16 lol :confused:

I'm seriously not though. All I saw when I first went to the site was the same one as before but with a few effects added on and a different colour scheme. It doesn't look like they have progressed as far as everyone had thought they would have, especially with all the creative people that they have now. I think they marketed themselves with the previous site better because the one before was cutting edge, and it had a demo reel that made sense. With this one, a lot of people are capable of doing those kinds of effects, and it just doesnt impress me as much as I thought it would.Quote:

Although saying that i do not personaly like the site much anyway lol, but in 2advanced's defence it seems this is the reason most are not impressed.
site is still really really nice. def not my style, but still cool. i agree it doesn't feel like much of a huge step in a different or new direction. almost more like a bunch of their more recent client sites all combined together. but yeah, not so much loving the colours.
now that demo real was pretty awesome!!! i was MUCH more impressed buy that,esp considering they don't actually specialize in 3d animation or anything.
i think i was looking for something more different, maybe that's why im disappointed. but from objective point of view without considering the history or anything of the company, it is a pretty polished site. i'll appreciate it for that.
like I said, short of the MCP pulling us all through INTO the website it would get a lot of criticism.
i remember though V3 when it came out and how I was more into V2 because I thought it was more techy. We've become so used to V3's style of:

SUB ELEMENTS
It's used on 1000000 sites, so this design is different but I can already see how subtle elements are nothing but genius. It's a great site. Someone do better.

I just viewed the water effect on a faster pc. It is really nice!

client work then those two studios by far.

XeoFreestyle is beautiful, but the navigation is way too confusing for the average surfer.
And Whos We ... Where's They is more like it. Their site is always down. And outside of the company site, most of their other projects aren't that great.

The revelutionary part is the backend scripting...but still shouldnt hype it.
I liked it, i thought it wasnt a huge step up from v3 like said previous.
-I thought the colors came out very well together, i thought the teal actually liven up the place, brought the site out more. cause if it was just shades of red, it would of be like v3 where it was kinda dull.
-The transistions i thought could of been alot better, maybe some use of after effects or combustion, some hot 3d.
-I thought it was alil too cluttered tho. alot going on, but you could find your way around with not much of a problem. hopefully their potential clients can work with it too.
-The demo reel was just great, i thought it set the tone for the whole prophecy theme, nice effect as well!
overall i thought v4 coulda been alot more visually pleasing with more advanced effects and my real wait is for the release of FI-REVOLUTION!, now i know thats gonna blow me away! :D
and i would like to hear Av's thoughts about the site too.. LOL ;)

I think you're close. They seem to be trying really hard to be cutting edge and futuristic. They get lots of great designers that maybe have no chemistry when together. So what happens is they lost their focus and vision and produce a bad sci-fi . . . thing rather than a "future of design" experience.Quote:

Yes, little made sense. (Though kinda cool what is going on in the demo? Are they looking to direct the next Star Wars film?)
Their last site was much better. At least for its time of release.
The new site looks great! I think I just have to get used to de redish site in stead of the blue one.... And now we all have to buy a new (red) t-shirt (Good marketing by 2Advanced:)).
The 3D-animation is really awesome. Especially the way it is compostited. WOW!
There are certainly some other sites (not many) which are also really great. But what I like about 2A is that they don't only put effort in their own site but also in all websites they build for other companies. Each website 2A build is of the same (Ultra high) standard. This cannot be said for any other company in the market.
I think this is the main reason everybody likes and respects 2A in general. Also because they also can build great Flash/HTML/database website and not only (just)flash-sites.
Don't complain unless you can do better! (well, there's a challenge)
