My client wants a 3D walk through (fly-through) of a development project. It needs to have textures and objects. The final out put will be QuickTime.
Currently the only 3D program I work with is 3DS Max and it is not suitable for the job. I am looking for a architect software with pre-fabricated objects and automated floor plan/ wall/ roof design.
Can anyone suggest a software title?
You need to search for a CAD/Cam package, or hire a 3D genius like me :) I hope you are charging them alot for something as complicated and time consuming as this!
(also, encode it as WMV, faster download, better quality for a smaller filesize) :)

Windows Media Encoder :) - also if you have XP/ME you have Windows Movie Maker built in (its not a great program, but will give you WMVs easily) :)Quote:

So I'm thinking that if I was to do this, I could set up the fly-by animation in Swift3D, then export as an swf and then have Flash bump out the swf product as an .avi for .wmv compression? - Is that a safe bet, or is there a better methodology using these tools?

Dude, I live and breathe Flash. I wouldn't know how else to do your proposed project without involving it somewhere (as I neither have nor know how to use 3DSMax or Plasma).

I heard that Sv3 is much, much better for modelling than the previous offering. Also, I'm of the mindset that says choose one tool and make it dance, rather than just pick up one and do one project and then drop it.
I bet I could do your project in Swift and it'd look pretty cool.
flash makes an awesome tool for creating skins for 3d models
