Any Christians out there who are looking for other Christian designers?
:smoov:
:xbones:
Any designer who labels themselves as Christian/Baptist/Mormon/Jewish... whatever... is turning business away... I don't do business with people that have little jesus symbols on their front doors.
Bad practice (no pun intended) if you ask me.
I have never looked for business @ FK. I come here for help.
Not what he meant. If you look at his site, you'll see it is free of religion. (nice site BTW. :))
Enstent, yah..I'm a christian. :) Now for the designer part...still an official "wannabe". Just finished my first for pay website last week though...looks like there is another one on the way.;)
I guess I came across the wrong way... what I mean is... I just simply don't like it when people mix business and religion... not accusing you of doing that, it was just a general post with regard to business and religion.
I am glad to see that you don't have a jesus symbol on your site :) way to many sites and companies associate themselves with religious organizations and all it does is drive away business.
Are you in IT?Quote:

seriously though, we are on shaky ground here. If you are implying that you will only work with christian designers then you are breaking various descrimination laws.
If it is simply a friendly enquiry then fair play to you, just don't let your religious beliefs prejudice you against others who are less worthy of God's grace ;)
You know that qualifies as racism?Quote:

religion and design is funny...
when my site was online and i was seeking work, a company (name irrelevant) asked me to an interview as they really liked my work etc... at the interview things all went well until they asked if i was religious... my answer obviously wasnt what they wanted to hear as i lost the interview as i wasnt muslim.... ha!!!
companies like that really do make me laugh.
Untrue. There is absolutely nothing wrong with hiring based on religion. It isn't unconstitutional in the least.Quote:

Just as you can specify a standard morality when you're renting out apartments, you can choose who you will do business with.
Now if he was a publicily funded orginization that would be different.
Also..he's in canada so US laws wouldn't even apply.
To answer his question though...not I'm not officially in IT, but I do IT related tasks as part of my part-time job. (Still in highschool) ;)
Like the one that says Marijuana is illegal?Quote:

And things come around full-circle...
:D Sorry, couldn't resist.
...which was odd, because the second one should have seen it coming.Quote:
