I was just flipping through a magazine, and it rated the top 50 cult classic movies ever made. Being the movie-maestro that I am, I decided to ask the good folks of Flashkit what they thought about this. In my humble opinion, it is "Office Space", the box office bust/DVD mega-hit. The magazine listed "Spinal Tap" as it's fav, as well as "Half Baked".
So what's yours?

I'd watch The Rock any number of times all days, also I can never say no to Alien Saga

The best cult movies are FRENCH. The **** they make their would be banned immediately in hollywood. Try to find "Bernie" or "Dobermann", laugh your ass off and realize that they make movies in other places then california too :)
And NO I'm NOT French ;) Thos movies just are the best!

As for cult, it depends how you define Cult. I see cult films as films that weren't pushed by huge Hollywood studios but which became popular on their own merit. Mostly films that never topped the box office polls but which people went back to see again and again anyway.

Or else, there's Clockwork Orange, and as Vamps said Rocky Horror Picture Show. Yellow Submarine maybe. And I can't remember the name, but there was a whacked out animated movie with the backing tracks by Led Zep, Hendrix, etc - a good zoner flick - just.... can't.... remember.... name....

or, if it qualifies, 'the conversation' - favourite film of all time.
I read that same article and what I don't get is that they made such a big fuss about how cultish and successful 'office space is but it didn't appear in their top 50 at all!

I would be shocked if it didn't appear in that maagines top 10 . Although, if Half Baked was one of the top picks, then it's anybody's guess..

harold and maude was extremely funny! I forgot about it because I havnt seen it in ages. Also, just re-read this thread and Half-Baked and Spinal Tap are great movies and some of my favorite.
I think one of the most famous cult films is "Pink Flamingos". One of the most wacked out films you'll ever see -John Waters at his best. :D

or The Night Of The Living Dead Trilogy or The Big Lebowski or any Chris Farley movie :)
I defiently agree with Half Baked, that movie rocked...
what make a film 'Cult' neways? a bad box office? or just a few hardcore fans, but not to many? i dont get it...

oh man ever seen the directors cut of natural born killers!! haha sick stuff...i would have to say that i looove all kevin smith movies(clerks and such) i loved texas chainsaw massacre 2(just so funny to watch) but i would have to say one of the all time wierdest cult movies i have seen was Meet the Feebles....sooooo wierd! haha and well all larry clark films are good Kids, Gummo and now Bully...those are just a few...i think i watch way too many movies haha

There was an Old man who had his car stolen who raced around trying to find this kid's dad, then the old guy's car get's stolen by these group of punks..and more..
though there was more to it..at the end everything come together it was like 9 events come together into one at the end of the movie.
meh anyway
