Evolution

Hi guys, first time poster, long time listener here :)

Thank you in advance for visiting Evolution.
For the past six months I’ve been working on the new LiquidThunder interface. It took hundreds of hours of work and a lot of dedication, but it was all worth it.

During development, I was made aware of the web essentials that we all must learn and commit to memory in order to be competitive: Usability, Readability, and Aesthetics among others. And so, my project became more than a project. It became a struggle to balance my site across those three important characteristics.

I believe Evolution changed more in the past week than it had in the previous six months combined. I showed my site to friends and teachers, and while they agreed on the interface as a whole, they had suggestions on usability and readability. I took notes on what I could do to make it more user-friendly and more pleasing to the eye. Thus, transitions shifted and quickened, fonts were exchanged, and I can truly say I love Evolution now more than ever. Their assistance is appreciated ten-fold, and will undoubtedly help me in my life-long web design goal.

Evolution is a step in the right track. With nearly 2 ½ years left in my Web Design course, I will have plenty of time to increase portfolio pieces, and Evolution will serve as a nice housing as well as a portfolio piece in and of itself.

That is, until the next interface idea strikes me. :D

I agree, this is one of the best swish sites I have ever seen. Very nice work. Your transitions are very smooth, great color combination, great background music, excellent design in general. I also like your button effects. I noticed in your list of tools you mentioned flash. Did you use flash at all for this site? Anyway you did a great job. Can't wait to see future sites from you.

Was this all done in Swish? Its hard to believe that a site this great was created in swish, but I guess the program has really come a long way since the beginning with version 1.

I have a few questions for you. Did you setup the 3D spinning logo in Swift 3d? What was the frame rate on that design? How did you accomplish the pixels to picture effect on the pic used on the template, and last but not least, did the site use alot of masks in the making of it?

Sorry for the flurry of questions,but people like you make me want to better my flash skills. Hope to hear back from you.

1. Yes this is was done in Swish 2.0
2. The spinning logo was indeed Swift 3d.
3. The site runs at 50 fps
4. Photoshop
5. Um, I guess so. I never really thought about it but I believe the site has around 80 or so masks.

i like the site alot looks great - i just have one thing with it - i'm on an old 800x600 view and with no scroll bars i can not see the bottom two boxes (it cuts off half way through).

Other then that the music fits very well and it is a very tranquil but elegant site :)
