I really dont know, forgive my ignorance if aussies get an hour more instead of the westerners getting -1.
I used it to be in time for work from a devastating hangover.

What extra hour?
I use to look forward to the clock changing back in fall. But you know what I've found? It only matters if your working. If you NEVER have to wake up by the clock, it doesn't mean anything at all. ;)
What if you have to go to the bank and stuff?
I just stayed up an hour longer. I thought it was 6 but it was really 5 so I didn't feel so bad about it.
i HATE sleep so it really didnt matter, i only take naps, max of 4 hour of sleep per day no more.... i wouldnt sleep at all if i didnt need a recharge, most times it is not sleep just lucid.
an extra hour at the pub!
are you talking about daylight savings?
Eastern states get it, Western stays the same I think. At least I know Melbourne do.
I got pissed off because I woke up and then realized I had to wait an extra hour before football would start.
well, first off all i set the clock back, and then a paradox occured to me: if the clocks go back on sunday at 2 o'clock, then it becomes 1 o'clock, surely its not 2 o'clock anymore, and the clock shouldn't have gone back yet.
not a paradox as the measurement of time - seconds minutes hours - is man made, so therefor man can dictate what is done with it. Time itself doesn't actually change
...and we set the clocks forward an hour (officially at 2.00AM on sunday morning they went to 3.00AM).
...so they take one hour away now, and we get it back at the end of Summer.

You're kidding me?! WA doesn't change either?? What, do they think it will make the cow's milk curdle or something, like the Queenslander's do?Quote:

A friend of mine works in a bar that is licensed until 3:00am. Come 2:00am Sunday morning, she checked with her manager about calling last drinks... he tells her they are going to stay open another hour. She then puts "4:30am" on her timesheet and gets in trouble for putting an extra hour down.Quote:

She made her point, but I don't know how much good it will do her. She should have made a sneaky call to the local cops, pretending to be a local "complaining" about the noise coming from the pub after licensed hours!
I set all the clocks, alarms, videos etc. to the correct time. Took about an hour . . .

Yeah we lose an hour.
I woke up abit earlier thinking, "ahh I'll start my day nice and early." then all of a sudden I have to add an hr and it's not so early any more :(
I'm a bit gutted, I simply woke up an hour earlier this morning :(
darn, I forgot the VCR!!! Well, then I got plenty of work to do today...
Don't forget the car . . .Quote:

Wrong. you substract an hour to the clock. therefore you've got one hour more.Quote:

when it waas supposed to be 11 it is 10. that means one hour less in the clock, making you win 60 minutes extra.
where and when did this all start? it is so dumb and then in the spring we will "lose" an hour. why not just keep it the same all year round?! bah
it has to do with energy saving and days not being exactly 24 hours.
if we kept the same time we would probably end having lunch time at midnight. days last approx 24 hours and some minutes. is the same as the leap year. years are not 365 days long. they are 365 and a quarter of a day. therefore after 4 years, you have an extra day, and to keep the year order you have to take it out. because if not you would end having new year's eve in the middle of summer ( north hemisfere here :) )
about energy saving, in summer because days are longer, you gain an hour to use up sun's light instead of having your light switched on the same time as in winter. this could provoke energy overrides.
