FlashForward mystery thread: **Possible Spoilers**

Figured I start a new thread because, why the fk not.
I'm somehow intrigued by the puzzle at http://truthhack.com/encrypted
I found that each of the keywords are mentioned in the testimonials at http://www.jointhemosaic.com/site/index.html#/STORIES. They're actually in order.

took me a while, but the source code has six commented numbers: 57,42,29,38,66,14
assign them to each code line. Sort them from min to max. (so the first digits will show 1,2,3,4,5,6). Use the second digit to get the letter (but it starts from 0. For example, first number is 14. Instead of choosing the 4th letter [t], you delete 4 letters and you get [B]).


What I hate about these games is that they are solvable, but they are just not logical. All the clues should be visible. How many people do look in the html source, and if they hide clues in the html source...does that mean other files can have clues in the js source?

Need someone with music knowledge to help with DOLL. It's a 4 but plays a solid tone for what seems to be a full rest. Been trying words like octave, quarter, full, half etc but it's probably obvious for the trained ear.

utah has some wierd stuff in the image element

it lists color01 - color07

with alignment top, middle, bottom, middle, top, middle, bottom.

The first two letters (for the first two pictures) of salt are 'M' and 'E'. Still trying to figure out the last two. I got one, but I guess it wasn't done the right way (more than one way to solve) since a letter didn't line up.

I got as far as M but couldn't seem to get the second but it was late. Did you use the M as the starting point of the E or start from unfolded completely to get the E?

btw, I'm pretty sure I can google the full answer but I prefer the challenge, please don't ruin it.

Ok, searched four letter words starting with me and found that its MELT

I had started with the paper completely unfolded. Kind of interested in seeing the correct way to get the last two. I thought maybe the letters were jumbled and it would be salt mine or something, but melt makes sense.

For the lake one, I think if we know what language it's in, it's going to be a lake in the country that language is spoken. I did a Google search for "gibbons" and found a wiki entry for gibbons apes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibbon) On that page is a color coded section in the upper right that looks like the one for Utah and the letters would correspond to that with the up / middle / down meaning how many letters to shift, but no luck.

Hmm, I was way off if that's the connection. In one of the testimonials they mention someone having sheet music by a composer, Orlando Gibbons

I have no idea if that's the right track, either. Just an idea.

Another idea for the one with the boxes and top / middle / low alignment, I think it might have something to do with the colors. Since they're in hex, they can be evenly divided by 3. 2 numbers make up the top, 2 make up the middle, 2 make up the low. It's not working out, though. The biggest problem is one of the middle numbers is 12, so either way you work it (forwards or backwards), 12 is still in the list and that's not a valid alphanumerical value.

Edit: I just noticed that if you read the main answers, they say things, like if you start at the bottom left and work up one, over one, and then up one, it reads "salt lake city utah." Maybe we can figure them out that way.

Edit 2: Possibly a coincidence, but both the backwards speech and the music for the cupcake are each 17 seconds long (well, at least going by what flash says and what the mp3 info says. WMP says the cupcake song is 18 seconds). No useful ID3 tags in the cupcake song either.

Heh, I even ran the cupcake song through shazam. No luck. The blackout time was 2min 17sec so the sound lengths are interesting. I also tried to make a connection to a rainbow or prism. Both have 7 colors.
I was actually looking at the answers as name pairs, Divine bullet, blue city etc. Blue City is a new development in Oman. Your Gibbons ape got me thinking about fossils and different era's found in Utah. It all requires some heavy reaching at this point. Perhaps there's more clues at jointhemosaic.com like all of the original keys.

Edit: Didn't notice until I just highlighted the whole Utah puzzle but the empty space that gets selected sorta rises and falls like a sine wave. Dunno, just wanted to point that out.
