You better let us know how it is. ;)Quote:

Why, why why ....
Can't wait to see the finished movie ;) (Have to fly to NYC to see it at May)
This movie kicks Pixar and Disney in the ass. It's so amaaaaaaaazing.
The actors are looking almost real. Sometimes you really ask if it's still rendering or a fake with real persons.
The backgrounds are very detailed and in some parts absolutly real. If you show a part like that and don't say it's CG animation, it's really hard to find it out till you see the special effects that are absolutly impossible in real life.
The hair and cloths are the most imressive parts of the movie if you know how hard they are to build in a 3D tool. I think they created some kind of physic engine to make it that real.
The facial animations are very different and only if you look hard at the details you see that they'r not 100% perfect, but still 98% perfect :D
The hairs are very thin like real hair and not like the hair in past render movies.
It's allmost an action story from what I saw and really not a children movie in the story writing. There is some kind of a love story, but I only saw the start of it.
There's a lot of phantom kind of species that are looking absolutly amazing, especially in two scenes.
From what I saw, the story has some parts of FF7 and FF8 but is a completly new story. Something like a mix of SF and Final Fantasy with a lot of tech and display things in the ship and some kind of end time atmosphere in the outdoor scenes.
Some parts really remembmbered me of Starship Troopers, but you really can't compare this two movies. There's a lot more mystic/spirit things going on in this movie and the visuals are not really looking like CG animation.
If the "phantoms" (they look like plasma creatures - a bit orange in the color department) kill someone you see the life energy going into the phantom and ... you have to see it.
If the story goes on like I think this will be the one and only movie to watch this year - ten times at the minimum. ;)
If someone has the change to see this first part of the movie, he will say allmost the same. I was there with two of my friends and they are all totally impressed like I.
May in the states and august in europe is the month to color red in your agenda.
If there are any question, I will awnser it when I can ;)
cool mn...i cant wait to see it... i love ff and it looks so pretty
I'd love to see it! Is any information about it on Square's web site? I'm going to check.

Yeahh, the new one, but the first one from Nagafuji Kanwa was better - just my opinion.Quote:

Thank you szakals. I went Japanese Square's site and couldn't find anything about the movie there.Quote:

You must have finished FF9. How was it?

ZOE: A lot of fun and a lot of highspeed action and some really great effects. I think it's now the time to buy a PS2 if you don't have one.
FF9: Don't have it, but I played it for about one hour and I think it's not bad at all. There are some ugly "Bayern" texts in the German version. Hard to read.
Yes,I want to buy PS2. Have you heard of "Onimusha"? or they may call it another name over there. It's for PS2,and its movie is good.Quote:

OK,I don't buy FF9 now.
I'll buy it much,much later,when the price's down;)
I saw your web site. You're so great!

For Onimusha: I know it, never played, but it's the best selling PS2 game in Japan, so I think it will be very good.
Oh,could you tell me when it's completed?Quote:

I have to wait until the 30th before I can pick up my copy. :D But yeah, I bought a PS2 recently after seeing the long trailer for MGS2. Of course, I play some other games on it too. ;)
I heard of Onimusha - actually hoping to play it this weekend...
I haven't had much play time on FF9 either, but from what I have seen, it really is an amazing game - great story and I love the character designs. It also plays really well - kind of like the best parts of all of the previous games so far, with the bad parts chopped away (ie - 10 minute movies when using a spell. :p)
In the states? I think this month, but I'm not absolutly sure.
Try:

http://www.dailyradar.com
http://www.sonyweb.com
http://www.gamespot.com
...
I'm sure you can find the exact release date on one of this sites.
Hehe :D but no more sleep now. ;) Thx that the game is not as long as FF. (<- ZOE)Quote:

Yes, thanks!
The guy from buena vista that was showing the movie, was saying that the production still isn't finished so the date is not absolutly defenitive.
But I hope to see the finished version at this date :D

It got moved up a week because Universal blocked the 18th by releasing Jurassic Park 3, and of course not wanting to go up against that movie, Sony pulled the Final Fantasy release up by a week. Which is good and bad at the same time
THERE hasn't been ENOUGH advertising done and some theaters haven't even gotten the trailers to be shown.
The budget on this movie is well over the $400 million mark (dont believe anything that says its $125 million..they are absolutely not true), and of course it will fail miserably in the Box office. Itll try to "lure" the non-sci fi, non-gamers, but alas, ITS the only crowd that will go out to see it. And with dismal failures on Animated feturettes, Sony/Square gonna havta pray that it will make its money back when they release a special edition for the PS2.
The last "sci fi" animated feature only made 1/3 of its production cost at the Box office and only did another 1/3 when it was released to video and DVD. But maybe a tie into a game will even it.
Hehe, sorry, for the long post. I am getting a copy of the "screener" from an industry friend, and I know three animators on the movie. They have good things to say about it, but they know that they are not going to get much out of it.
Since no sneak preview for me (and I live 20 minutes from the studio) you'd think they'd had a sneak here?
