I owe you a site check...(hehe)...I love the design of your site, very professional looking! I like the scrolling speed and the asome clear graphics in the bg. It overal looks VERY nice. can't wait to see more of your work! I love it. Cya!
Thanks for the site check Map!
been waitin for one. I figure I'll probably be updating it daily. Or nightly as is much more likely. Again, thanks for your check.
rush!
My Opinion:
Intro - I love it! The spinning sphere kept me wondering what was going to happen.
Load Transition - I love it also! The lines the create the outside are well done. The lines that create the interior are cool to with the flashes.
Background - I love the pic.
That is the end of my critique because that is the only original part of your site. The rest is a remake of 2advanced. Be a little more creative, because you have to make it different from 2advanced to get recognized.

Well Kac,
Thank you for your input on the site. I do realize that there are a great deal of similarities between the two sites. I did not intend for this to happen, it just did. I've spent a great deal of time putting the site together, and I guess the 2advanced design really stuck in my head or something as it has had a large influence on my site design.
I however have used a different color scheme, different design layout, different menu, different submenus, and different options on the page.
The similarities that I had intended were the flashing transitions of which I made several new ones (having been inspired by 2advanced), and the shape morphs for borders of which they have 2, and I have several and am making more.
These were the only 2 similarites that I intended. The site layout I came up with from looking through countless skateboard magazines and fliers and putting 2 of the pamphlets together. I liked the look and made it into my site's layout. The submenu layouts came from snowboarding and surfing magazines that I was looking through. I liked what they had done, I combined them and put it together. The 3d shapes that I used were inspired by who else but Swift3d's new site.
The Wire (news) I came up with from looking at such sites as 3oh, and the graphic of the day I came up with from looking at similar sites. The 3d work in the backgrounds came from motivations of linkdup, 3oh, k10k, etc etc etc.
Sorry that the whole thing ended up resembling 2advanced, it was not intended. Anyway, I spent a lot of time and a lot of research putting this together. Thank you for your input. Much appreciated.

I never really saw the attraction of the 2advanced thing, just seems like a massive headache to put together and gives me a headache to look at, what u got going on in your site is demonstration of skill, but i'd say cut back , simplicity is the key
just my opinion
hey electrolux,
Thanks for the thoughts. It is quite a headache to put together sometimes. Huge piles of paper sitting around with scrapped ideas, and so much extra work for such little output. I just like going the extra mile. I like putting in the extra day of work so that the page does a little more.
I figure I'll put together a simple HTML site to mirror this one.
Thank you again for the input. I'll try not to get too crazy.

electrolux, you do have some good opinions regarding the 2advanced style. i personally love that style. yes it can get old seeing people repeating the same style but if its changed with someone elses personal flair then great.
loved the X-1 site by the way. LESS IS MORE
Hey, thanks for the feedback there bro!
I hear ya on loving this style of design, and that it can be overdone. I've been trying really hard to "make it my own."
Anyway, thank you for the feedback. It's very very welcome.

its great but i think it needs some sound..
I'm digging it, but it does look a lot like 2advanced (not necessarily a bad thing). Get a solid domain name....jerQuote:

Cool site !!
I really like the snowman... :0)
Hope to see more of your work.
I love your website, very smooth transitions.
The only thing that bothers me is the little space that you leave to display your points. In your scrolling controller, is hard to read the letters.
Thats your thoughts
nice job

i like the site and can see you worked long hard on it.. but you did mimic 2advanced a bit too much.
the work is good but i think there is to much unused space at the top.u should use it ....try to soften the white grids a bit.. take down the alpha value on em to make em blend in more with you color sceme. sorry to get into you but hey we all have to be critics some time. it is clear though that you do have a nack for flash and a talented designer so keep going and use what you on the internet as insperation not as templates...
the usual 2a inspired work.
I love the 2Advanced feel, most guys criticize it only cause it's too much work, but you've done a great job.
The only crit I can offer is at higher res the fonts gets pretty small, only just readable and I've got 20/20 vision.
But hey, cool designs are cool anyway.
Keep up the good work.

It's kinda funny, I've been watching the posts

On the other hand, I thank you for the opinion

Again, thank you all for the helpfull feedback.
I did have someone mention that they had a bit

soo what if it has some 2a in it! ... it looks good
Liked it a lot. The shpe morphs are good, and the flashes too, but sometimes a little overdone. Maybe some sound? background is pretty good, and load times really good.
I'm not too sure about the unaliased bank gothic, you shuold maybe try a pixel font. Standard would probably be the best one here.
Oh, and get a skip button in at the beginning. Nobody wants to see the cube rotate three times everytime he enters the site...
Keep it up
I wanted to give a seriously big thanks to the feedback. Especially Laz. on that last one. I'm having the sounds made for me by a techno/emo band that I know. So, I hope to add that soon. The skip button, yes, I need to add that, this is true. It gets a bit irritating watching it over and over. I mean.. hey, I go back and walk through the thing over and over again, I'm getting tired of the cube.
Thanks for the feedback. The load times was something I really worked on. I noticed that a lot of big sites don't really care about the little 56k users anymore, and up until about a month ago, I was one.
I've made extensive use of libraries to do it, which by the way is a huge pain and blessing at the same time.
Anyway, I'll be working on that skip button as you suggested, and I've been thinking about toning down the morphs for the other submenus. Maybe something a little simpler.
Anyway... I suppose I'll see as I get there.
Thanks again,

;) Yeah yeah it does look sim to 2adv but its still a good professional look and style. And as far as im concerned everyone gets their creative thoughts from something. The people who say the dont then what are they doing at flashkit just donating...YEAH RIGHT..haha Think it looks good bud id love to see the finished product. Add some sound and an intro:)
You'll really think im weird for this one but I feel the text is a bit too small in some areas. I feel the same about 2adv but then again its just my opinion.
Hey, thanks for the thoughts.
I'll be posting an update here in a few minutes... hopefully people will get to take a look at that as well. For the most part the subcategories will have been updated a bit, especially the Clients sub. It has had extensive coding and design.

i don't think the criticism of 2advanced is based on that it's hard to mimic, but that it's ubiquitous among people beginning to get the programming side of flash down, and now just need new ideas (example: we only really see 2a duplicates among younger independent freelancers...correct me if i'm wrong but i've NEVER seen an established design/ad/pr agency have a 2advanced look)...
it also depends on who you're marketing your site to as well. if you're trying to get clients who aren't familiar with flash and who don't spend time on site check boards and reading the friends of ed books, you're fine.
but walk into a job interview where the art director says, "okay, you've impressed me so far, now you can meet our flash team" and they pull up your site, chances are that they will see the 2a look, know what goes into it, and form their opinions that way.
again, i'm not criticizing you or justifying criticism, just offering a different perspective.
wah wah wah! I wish people would shut the hell up and stop *****ing about 2a! Man you would think people would understand the concept of trends or styles!! Jesus! Anyway, I love you site! very nice, very very very nice! i have nothing to complain about:) can you do a site check for me?

Hey, thanks for the comments everyone. I agree that I am following a trend. I do also agree that my target audience is one that will not see my site as a rip off, as some self-righteous flashers tend to view many sites as.
That being said,
I've posted new stuff into my Clients area, and wanted to know what people thought. If I could get some feedback on that, I would love it.
Thanks to all!

hi there,
really like the site - prefer it to 2A - lurv the logo area on the right!!! - background graphix are super
the whole site has a great feel about it, probably due to the smooth transitions and simple effex like the 3d loading box ... for me, you've hit the colour schemes spot on!
can only see this site getting better and better
good work well done
Cheers
G
Thank you for the kind words there glassjazz. They are very much appreciated. Thanks again,

hi again,
was looking at your site again -
thinking about the 2 info boxes at the bottom and how they could be brought out a little more ...
1st I thought about using the faded blue rectangle on the logo - what about a similar coloured box as a background to the 2 info boxes?(graphic/wire) - maybe a little more 'faded' (higher _alpha setting) than the logo box, but similar colour would fit in well - NOT on the whole space at the bottom - just a background within the boxes themselves
THEN, I noticed the space below the menu and above the 2 boxes - the bottom of the movie and boxes go right to the bottom of the window - why not bring it up about half a centimetre - about ( ) maybe a little less - just nudge the 2 boxes and grid up a bit ? what do u think?
just thoughts
Cheers
G
