Okay ... Nordles response in another thread sort of prompted this thread ...
Anyway ... my son skateboards as most of you know ... Now, he's telling me he wants "skate shoes" (something called 'es')...
Really ... do they make your 'skating experience' that much better?
btw - so far, I've told my boy if he wants skate shoes - he pays half, I'll pay half ...
if you are asking if skate shoes make a difference - well they do if he's been skating in regular sneakers (basketball, running, tennis, etc.). skate shoes have flat, sticky soles - unlike regular sneakers which have nubby treads, air in the soles, or and uneven surface. they also have area's on the outside of the shoe (ollie patches) that prevent holes forming - or at least from forming right away. go to the skate shop and check them out - you'll notice the difference right away.
imho, the best skate shoes ever made were regular nike and adidas basketball shoes from 1987 to 1991. this is before there was 'air' in the soles, and they were hi-top leather suits of armor for feet. if i could go back in time, i would by 20 pairs of hi-top, leather, black adidas from 1989 - the best baby, the best!
es's are nice

lmao ... my Daddy had a workshop (welder, lathe, etc) - and horrible feet (hard to find shoes that fit) ... I kid you not - he had a pair of shoes he'd duct taped through at least 4 or 5 years ... If he burned a hole in 'em - no problem ... new shiny piece of duct tape fixed it right up ...Quote:

Hubby went on a guided pheasant hunt a few months ago - and he loved it! Thought it was great! It was his first guided hunt and he was definitely loving every minute of it.

ive been skating for over 10 years and used to be am. the best skate shoes ever made were the es sal barbiers (sal 23's) and they discontinuted them, but they are coming back out with them. the black ones shouyld be out soon.
