cooool i want it...i have issuses with large file sizes :D
Don't see why they would lie.
The interactive tour is quite good.
Is it a compression of the allready compressed MX files, or just a replacement of the MX compression? Hmmm...
Fredi
it's true rugs. :)
Why does the 8kb file play slower?
I liked this clip http://www.erain.com/optimaze/optima...artoon/nej.htm
Normally it should run faster cause Flash has to move less lines/polys (If it's true that the tool really otimizes the lines itself)Quote:

Well, it is playing faster or slower - one of the 2. How can I test to find out which one? Well, back to my corn watching duty.
hmm... I want one. It's kinda expensive though.
look nice! but $129?
hey erain - give us a discount if we already own Swift!!!!
i don't really dig it... i think it's just a quality reducer ,... hence the filesize reduction ;)
Yeah if you zoom in you can see the differences
Well, thats what they've done then! ;)Quote:

step 1.- click on the [select multiple frames] button.
step 2.- click on the button to the right and select [union all].
step 3.- right click on the stage and -> "select all".
step 4.- click on the [smooth] button a coulpe of times.
Congratulations! U have now "optimazed" your vector animation, and it didnt cost you $129!
lol, it's very true, if you zoom in on each movie side to side playing that 'slider' movie, you can really see it!
sill i suppose it works and 90% of people won't nice a difference, definitely worth having a go yourself, a la cosmiceye, before forking out the cash though!
well it seems pretty cool to me, im gonna invest in it , i think!
try doing it for yourself first.
hell yea!
hahahha, I just started up that site and guess which animation loaded faster? thats right, the 15k one :D
Hey guys
I've been asked to pop in here and talk about Optimaze, I've just finished a review of it (Click here to read) - I'm gonna get SHOT for putting that link there .. I just know it.
Optimaze is very powerful. And Yes someone here mentioned you can "optimize" your files in Flash. We did some testing, took a 200kb Plasma file, optimized it with flash to 165kb, ran it through optimaze and hit 114kb and because it was animation.. pushed it a pit more and got it down to 96kb!!!
It's really simple, VERY powerful and works with Flash 3, 4, 5 and MX along with ANY SWF exported from Freehand Illustrator etc etc etc.
Flash MX uses Z-Lib compression, Optimaze takes that and crushes it even more.
Check out the review (Click here to read) .... We've some examples up there that show it working on normal files we worked up.
the point of it is you have complete control of quality vs. filesize.Quote:

if you like you can make an analogy with bitmap graphics.
BMP : huge files, full quality
JPG : the more you compress the worse the quality.
if you zoom in you can see changes, but if your content plays back at a certain size you compress it to account for that.
if it plays back real small, you can compress it really hard, if not, dont compress it so much.
easy. :)
Hi All,
After thinking about it for a while, I bought Optimaze last week, turns out I'm pleased I did.
I'm used to importing all my graphics and then going through the animation, breaking it apart, onion skinning and optimising all the frames (which usually have to be done in sections) before publishing. I've got pretty good at this so was kinda sceptical about the claims... but seriously, this thing is cool, it does it all on the fly, without having to worry about onion skinning, and it's way faster than flash.
Running it on some older stuff Ive got, which I thought id done a pretty good job on, knocked another 30-40% or so off most of them, and im not going to miss going through the whole optimising rigmarole within flash.
I haven't had time to really play with the effects or anything yet, but if you work with vectors id recommend it.
