I hope you're not using this for sinister purposes. cause if that info makes it's way to a smart bomb you'll nail me.
translation: it's correct.
Watch the data grow:

Any chance we can see the code you are using to make that happen, myself and a few instructors here in Albuquerque, New Mexico are trying to figure out how you've done this.
Quite interesting.

I don't think that is right....
And XPenguin.com HAD a cool thing that would map the location of your IP using GD iamge libarary. For some reason it doesn't work anymore, but here is a link anyways.

Strange how this one gave every but the correct distance.Quote:

naw i think it is your generic failure after looking at NerdInside's #s. they're the same and we aren't neighbors that i know of.
79.42° West 43.7° North 9143 Km is the location of Shiftback.com It, for some reason, didn't give any info on my IP.
I am trying to do something similar in Flash.Quote:

I'm in Edinburgh... so come to think of it, the longitude is probably bang-on perfect. I'm not sure if there's some hosting-related explanation, or perhaps our adsl provider is down there - I think we've got a router that broadcasts multiple IP numbers. To be frank though, I don't have a scooby about all that stuff.Quote:

That would be pretty sweet. All you would have to worry about is the loading of images.Quote:

And I have to make a correct: The IP-Atlas does NOT use the GD image library. Also the reason why it doesn't work any more is because NetGeo has stopped replying to 50% of the queries. Which could be the reason the why the script on Shiftback didn't give any info on me.

I'm in wellington...
which is the opposite end of the north island from Auckland...
but it isn't a huge country so that is about 700km distance...
Interesting... I will keep that in mind as I test.Quote:

Thanks
Now it says "Sorry, data not logged due to secure IP address!" What the hell does that mean?

Sorry, data not logged due to secure IP address!
Your IP: 68.82.158.115
I just put that in so people would get the idea that their IP is not accessable to the tracking service... sorry.Quote:

I live in Toronto and it was tracking where I lived a few days ago and now it is not.
I have seen my IP tracked down to my city by other things like this.
www.distrowatch.com
Scroll down to the very bottom. There is a little image that says what city you live in. It's called GeoButton
I don't see that button.
Oops. Forgot the link :)
