seriously though, it always strikes me as strange. The English / Americans stole everything from the natives and then celebrate the fact that they were given a few walking birds? and they say Americans don't do "ironic".

It was a day of thanksgiving the pilgrims celebrated WITH the indians that had helped them so much.
I don't call that stealing. (And the pilgrims weren't killing indians with small pox either..that was further south and at a later date)
