nothing to run home about and especially nothing to use 3 exclamation points for. sa'lright, but noone i would turn to for employment. just too boring. got all the flas i saw from flashkit.
yeah right a kid a 14years old made that, maybe its a PR stunt his father of brother made it and said a kid of 11years old made it to get some pr, no ****ing way a kid knows how to make so clean and proffesional site. Cant belive it. The site is clean and realy nice for a hybrid site, looks proff.
look here: "London Knights is a very profile organization in London. I am very honored and excited about this contract. I feel good when people recognize my company's design work and customer service. This is great for me personally, my company and most importantly to the young entrepreneurs in general. Now we know that if you do good work and look after the customers well, people will recognize you. So work hard and keep your dreams alive."
<-have you ever heard a kid speak so well english?
entrepreneurs <-like he knows what that means?
he is maybe the presiden but I dont belive he made anything of the site.
Sorry jeay-holmes but go to the gallery and there are pictures of the little bugger.

Who is the old dude next to him? I will only belive that he designed that site if he come to my home and we have a head to head on designing a site for a company other then that they can kiss me where the lord split me. heheheh
I would sooner believe the kid in the pic designed the site than the 40 year old guy.
Wow, this kid springs up yet again!! He's been talked about for so many years that he must be nearly old enough to draw a pension. ;)
kids that are 14years old don't have a sense for web design, so I don't believe he has designed that site.
And some of those sites are made with PHP and Flash so when did he had the time to learn that? he cant say that he learned it when he was younger, he he that is the crappiest PR stunt I have ever seen.
I saw one a film of a PR stunt like this, but it was about a record company that wasn't getting any PR stunt and they were going to shut down and suddenly the president of the company got an idea of hiring a 15year old kid a talent agent and then they god a lot of PR and signed a lot of stars and it all ended happily that was one of the stupidest films I have ever seen just like this PR stunt.
By the way I wouldn't even buy news papers from a kid, and sure not a web site like the people in the portfolio section.
But who cares anyway, the kid is rich on a stupid PR stunt.
I don't understand why they use that "14 year old kid"-PR thing.. It wont get any respect from me that a child is running the company. I would not let a teenager to take care of my companys (if I would have a company) site or what ever they are doing in that company. I wouldn't even let a kid to change my cars tires. Puberty doesn't help anybody to work better, that's for sure! :)
to get real I think this is a joke or something..
Don't really care if he is 14 or not, end of the day this is a cool sites forum, this site is far from cool, its toilet.
The site is ok, I don't care how old the kid is!!
Okay ... what if ...
The little kid is ONLY the CEO .....
And he had a great designer as employee ?
It's a great site if you consider the creator is 14 years old.
My question is, why is it so hard to believe someone who made that is 14?
If you spend a lot of time learning flash/html and improving your skills (who has more time than a 14 year old? :p ), you can get good enough to do a site like that fairly quickly.
Whether or not he had slight help is another question. Whenever I make a site, I always welcome outside help or suggestions.
Good point, i didnt look at it that way.Quote:

Never the less, the site is no where near good enough to be posted in cool sites no matter how i look at it lol :)
still I don't think he made it ( the design )
why ?
cuz the mind of a 14 year old has not the reached that level to come up with such finess of design ( i think ). His mind will be like a kid ... if he was 18 or 19 , okay ... it could be done yes ...
but that's just my opinion,
X-perimental Concept <- I agree man, coulden`t agree more.
This is the story: the kid is only a fronfigure of the site like a logo and nothin els just to get PR!!
PEACE
Yeah, I didn't see anything about the "kid" being the designer/programmer.
Anyways, I question his age based on the pictures. What 14 year old would be caught dead with that haircut and suit. I'm thinking Gary Coleman syndrome. He's 38.
Does this mean he is a designer, but he has 10 other designers to help him?Quote:
The company's President, CEO & Chief Creative Director is an internationally recognized and award-winning designer, 14-year-old Keith Peiris of London, Ontario. The company has 10 highly qualified designers and programmers on staff.
Also I believe that he designed this one > http://www.doubledtrucks.com/
who cares guys
both of those sites are nothing to get excited about
14 year olds have lots of time on their hands to waste, plus 14 year old minds would be younger, more abstract, if anything, the kid should be more creative than that
and so what - there are alot of 14 year olds out there who are good at flash --- whats the big deal?
Hello to everyone,
I would just like to make a comment. Being a 14-year old student myself, I believe this site could have been done by someone my age. There are many young minds out there that can achieve much more than many of us can imagine. I, being at a highly competive magnet school, know much about this. Everyday, I see 14-year olds taking classes such as AP Computer Architecture and AP Supercomputer Applications. Therefore, it is not impossible for young persons to accomplish such a feat.
Regards,
Tommy H.
However, one must also take into account that he may not have done most of the work. The young CEO may have started with some website designs and ideas, but he may not have accomplished them himself.
Regards,
Tommy H.
you guys are impossible. Especially the part where our brains are less developed to be artists and teenage crazy smokin marijuana years affect ALL KIDS. Thats just because you all are jealous you couldn't get into computers when you were 14.
Hope your kids start at 7! Then you'll be even more amazed...
And if I wanted to, I could ask a friend to post my sites in cool sites forum with titles like "Check what this 15 year old boy did" and it'll rock so MUCH!
But damn i'll feel bad because I'll know you'll judge the site depending of my years. And even if its bull**** like this site's thread, some people will say its VERY IMPRESSIVE even though it sucks.
IF ANY OF YOU "KIDS" ARE READING THIS, DONT EVER POST YOUR AGE WITH A SITE CHECK IN THE OTHER FORUM. I'VE SEEN REALLY BAD SITE CHECKS BECAUSE OF AGE.
We should consider ourselves equal to you "OLD" guys because some of us started even before you.
Lets see what you think?!? I'm sure I'll get lots of different points of view on this one.
Well said!Quote:

Yeah if it was good, we'd have something to talk about.
I just want to know why the little guy keeps going to China. I could put "Keynote Speaker at IT Summit, Souzhou, China" on my site and I'd bet hardly anyone on this forum (or continent for that matter) could verify or disprove it, or even pronounce Souzhou correctly. It's all about as honest as the claim "Largest Casino on the Net". lol. They gotta be kiddin me.
http://www.cyberteks.net/images/phot...a/IMG_0105.JPG
Photoshop, anyone? Where's that picture of that doofy lookin' dude on top of the World Trade Center with the plane flying at him? I wanted to compare the skilz between the two. If they're real, then I think the words that came out of the kid's mouth before shaking hands with the Chinese bigwigs were "Can I have your autograph?". ;)
OK, enough picking on children, I see an old lady I can go push off her walker. gotta run!
Hm... Interestingly enough, Keith Peiris seems to be an person who is internationally known in the business world. (Or so he says...)
However, he seems to have a noticeably large ego.....
http://www.keithpeiris.net/
Interesting...
Regards,
Venio
Well I think he's just talented but to start up like that, you need capital, and I don't think he made that all by himself. He's just lucky that he has the talent and the capital to do it.
But there's nothing amazing about the site. For the average user, people who don't know anything about computers, the sites he made are amazing... But to us people here at flashkit, it's nothing amazing.
despite the fact about age only a few people have noticed how sub par the actual site is.
i could easily believe that it was made by a 14 year old. because it is SERIOUSLY lacking in sophistication. its not awful. but by NO means a cool site. at all.
whaaaatever
his father Deepal Peiris, is vice president, project manager, administrator, etc etc etc. dad can't even pull the strings silently. he's obviously running the show.
daddy, i want my own company for christmas.
the only thing you can find about him is he's young and he went to china, what a laundry list of achievements.
i'd guess the only site he did himself is http://www.keithpeiris.net and that was made with fireworks.
i know of lots of large brick and mortar businesses that hire somebody's nephew to do their site. those nephews should incorporate themselves and go to a convention in china too.
the site is ok..
for a corporate site, it is good..
u couldnt expect more from a corporate site..
its not a studio site like whosewe
anyways, a 14 year kid made it is no big deal..
i was 12 when i signed up on flashkit and made my own stuff..
all i got was a big debate if age matters or not when u r making a website..
conclusion: it doesnt!
u could be a a dumb kid or a dumb adult..
or u can be a smart kid or a smart adult..
period...
no point debating about it...
(btw, the thread i had started when i was 12 was not using this user account)..
I think the site sucks, its ugly. I seen this kid post on egomedia. Saying he had just finished a contracted site for 300,000 dollars I mean cmon. None of his work is worth near that much. I don't care how long many times he goes to china.
LoL.
It's just a big publicity stunt, but from what I've seen it seems to be working for him. I have no doubts that the guy could make those sites at that age (I know that I could have at 14). His animation skills suck, btw ;).
Please don't say that a younger person doesnt have the mind for designing. I'd say the opposite. The younger the person is, the larger the opportunity for innovative ideas. Younger people aren't as brainwashed and run down as older people, and thus may even have a greater ability to think up new things, and (possibly) identifying with their true instincts and feelings, as opposed to following robotic paths and formulas like many adults do. K.
;)
"The company's President, CEO & Chief Creative Director is an internationally recognized and award-winning designer, 14-year-old Keith Peiris of London, Ontario. The company has 10 highly qualified designers and programmers on staff."
There is no info about that the kid is a designer and how he started with web design there is only pictures him shaking with some old people, he he. I realy dont belive there is a kid that can design a site like that, it looks kinda good issent something to blow me away but when a kid at the age of 14years old make it it kinda blows me away abit, age maters ALOT guys. When I was 14 I was making out and partying alot,he he and beeing out side 24 seven.
If the kid designed the site by himself and made the sites in the portfolio, hands down to him, and if he continues he is going to be great web designer. But I dont belive he did it!
Kids cant web design, prove me wrong by posting in here some sites that are made by 12->15year olds.
i'll quote you on that in a few days ;)
Check out the OLD thread which is talking about the same stuff you guys are and it's nearly two years old!
http://www.flashkit.com/board/showth...threadid=78665 :D
We'll see... We'll see, just remember our nicks because I won't post with 15 years old, check my site title.Quote:

LEVEL103
level103.com, ey? Just checked it out. Nice arrow and theres also tweens. Got sum questions for you to think of for the next update.
Question 1: Why a minut of "initiating system" (Im on broadband)? Was it preloading the whole audio content for the site, and does it really need to be preloaded completely?
Question 2: Whats the "DRAG" things for anyways. When I see a window Im supposing that its draggable, but what would I need to drag them arround for?
Yeah, we'll make them eat their words :xbones:! Don't underestimate teh teenagers hehe..Quote:

Anyways, I don't know about this Keith Peiris dude. He's all popular and everything, but his skills SUCK. Like, come on... The site is ok, but nothing to get excited about.
Jesus Christ! Forgive my blaspheme... but common! This topic has been discussed so many freaking times... im tired of this BS! If im not mistaken.... This kid has been 14 years old for what... 2 years now!!
