Cool - but a little spastic
I think that if they used a lower pitched sound for mouse-overs, it wouldn't feel so spastic.
Wow. That navigation is really cool! Yea. Sorta spasmic due to the clicks. I like the font though. :)
this was site of the week a while ago. I like it, the navigation is interesting though I agree it is a bit 'spastic' but there's great work in there.
That popping noise kinda sounds like teen spirite.Quote:

Thanks for all visiting our agency site...
We have been umming and aahing about the sound effects...
perhaps you're right? They're only really meant to
be small snippets of feedback... Not really sure that
'Spastic' is the word? But we appreciate your feedback...
A good change to have user testing for free :)
More importantly... please visit B O D Y S O N G a site we've been involved in... (it's not shockwave 3d but completely bespoke... plus has audio from Jonny Greewood from
Radiohead... we like to jam with the best of 'em!)
Hi james, thanks for popping in.
I'm not sure that spastic is the right word either but I'm not sure that we all meant it perjoratively either :)
The mouseover sound is ok, but I think it contrasts too greatly with the movement of the sections, they suggest something lower pitch and drawn out to me.
A cool site though, and great work, I love your magpie examples. Just surfing bodysong, it's always good to see a company that mix business with creativity, nice one, and not just because jonny greenwood is a god.
:D
I'm sure there is an anagram in there somewhere :)Quote:

hmmmm
design and ego, or joy now?
:)
i like it, but why put the interface in a pop up box?
Over 30% of users still have screens set to 800*600, so with most browsers and their multitude of toolbars... this gets greatly reduced... The BETA we sent out originally WAS in a normal window, but people said they were losing stuff of the bottom.
Hence a pop-up (Be thankful it's not advertising a casino!)
James
good call.
Cheers :) It's all in the detail.
*BUMP*
I'm not a fan of the navigation. It felt clumsy. So much manipulation necessary. It seemed to be the product of just trying to do something different much more than doing something inspired by the product.
The pointer is always a hand even when there's nothing there to click on. When a page is pointed at, it's not clear what expanded. When I page is opened I had to search to find my way back - no continuity - dead end roads.
Interested to know what you mean by 'product'?
If it was a site for selling cars - cars would be the product. If that dealership had a cartoon character as its mascot, the mascot might be the product because it represents the dealership.
b.t.w. I wouldnt have responded, or even thought about it, if it wasn't a quality site that showed good skill.
Thanks whoever it was that has put us on your front page of Flashkit.... cheers! :)
Well done with the site however the window positioning at 1024 x 768 is frustrating ... far right and off the bottom of the screen in all browsers. ( Bugger 800 x 600 :) )
I like the navigation and the boldness of the presentation :)
The style of http://www.oringe.com may be of passing interest to you :)
Cheers
We don't actually set a position for the window... so perhaps it's something strange your end... If anyone else is finding this? Let us know!
Also just checking that you do mean the Engage site... and not one of the other projects we've recently completed
You can click on the first 7 of the boxes... only contact us and clients is unclickable (at present) i.e. there is two ways of accessing the information... shortcuts from the 'announcements' section and through the different catagories (Brand , cross platform etc)Quote:

If you notice where the top left of the pop up is in relationship to your splash..
This means the bottom of it is off screen in Mozilla, Opera and IE6.
I see plenty of popups in any given day and yours is not a centered one at the resolution I mentioned.
Cheers

Well don`t you think this is a bit too much for the average client ? I found it a bit messy to navigate trough, and understand what the site can deliver .. 4 outta 10 clients would have closed that pop up window after 1 second ;) or either disabled it !
Thanks Jofta.... will look into it... Not keen on positioning it... but again, will have a look. Thanks for the constructive critisism.
Thanks Johnny, but we don't have average clients. :)
