I need a BLOODY name! (help me, I'll pay you)

Tonight is one of those nights when you open the refridgerator, you see a half filled jug of OJ, and the first thought that comes to mind is "I'll be darned if I don't drink the whole jug!".

It is also a night when I come to realization that I suck when it comes to naming programs.

Back when I was banned from yours truly, I started planning and developed the first beta of some a desktop application. The software is a desktop application for windows that connects to a bulletin board and keeps users up-to-date with the Latest Posts, Active Users, Site News, Stats, etc...

The program was originally entitled "IPB Live". Which stands for Invision Power Board Live. This is because I originally developed this software soley for IPB.

My initial response has been very satisfactory with 35+ sites beta testing.

This has led me to change my goals for the software.

I've realized that I have a much bigger market if I rebrand the product to something generic, and write backend scripts for ALL major boards....including ASP boards.

This is where my problem lies....I CAN'T THINK OF A BLOODY NAME!

I want something generic, that relates to browsing, reading...but doesn't sound hokey. Something abstract, yet still related to the concept.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very greatful. :) I'll keep track of who submits the winning name, and award a cash prize as a thank you.

wow what a geek...i wish i could make something that cool hehe...well i wasn;t planning on submitting a name but i guess i might as well give it s shot how aobut ummm...."Board Invader" haha since it does invade a board and keeps track of it or even how aobut "board tracker" haha or spruce it up and call it "Board tracker..of Death" :cool:

just call it "program" or i am not sure what you wrote this in or what program you used or what not but if it is a program just use whatever it gives you like "untitled1" hehe hmhm sorry for all the smart ass ones cannot think of any good hardcore ones...hmhmm...let me think...how about "Peeping Tom" or umm....."Board Stalker" hmhm well if i think of any more smart ass answer i will surely post them

Look at it this way...

FK has a news forum....as do most sites. So it parses through that and displays it...with any relevant info.

The main feature...users stay up-to-date with your board...and thus post more.(ideally)

File size? I guess you mean the app. Well, the install package is 4mb. This is mostly because of the DLLs required for displaying HTML in the app.

Server size XML is under 15k for an average site...

RSS feed is only as good as the front end app...

Which I could always rewrite my data structure to use the RSS feed and change my licensing. ;)

RSS feeds are good all around, they were designed to be. So were the news readers. One could easily edit the source code of a RSS news reader to support anything the site owner wanted. Users, threads, whole forums, anything.

Either way....a newsreader doesn't offer the functionality my app does...

and...I have a headstart... :p

Board Watch (1 or 2 words) basic, easy to remember ... sounds like Boardwalk which could work too (1 or 2 words), and is more abstract.
