Why won't anyone reply??
Even the people banned don't know why.
The behavior of this board is disapointing.. kinda like how they conspired to fire the guy in "Philadelphia"
If the staff of this board say things and act in certains ways, why be afriad to defend their actions??
Ok juxtaman. PM a mod or something. Or you'll probably be next to go if you keep posting this.

Juxta, I made a mistake. That info (referriing to your attachment, which I just deleted) is for mods only. Please do not post it. FYI, I was going to ban Nerd over a week ago. It's no secret that he was on his way out. It seemed to be his goal.

The screenshot. Nerd was able to see it was because of a mistake I made.
nerd and cliff were told why they were banned.
they were given a temporary ban and allowed back on the condition that they didn't keep treating the coffee lounge as their personal playground.
They did, after more warnings, so they were banned.
they contributed nothing to this community, they might have entertained a precious few but they made this place seem cliquey and unwelcoming to non regulars. This community isn't just about 5 or 6 people that post in the coffee lounge.
Once again the attachment is REMOVED!
I moved your last thread, was just in the process of PMing you actually to explain why, but if you want to take the explanation public, so be it...
1) If we the moderation team and/or the supermods/admin wish a ban to be placed upon a member - then we can.
You all agreed to this in the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when you signed up.
2) On above: We do not have to give you a reason
3) As far as that attachment goes, posting it was just damn stupid!
VERY stupid.
You aswell as a ot of members know that is a PRIVATE LOCKED forum for Moderators.
How you got in there I don't know.
If its a bug it WILL be fixed soon!
4) As for professional - do NOT bring my professional attitude into this. I know you may have been friends with Nerd and CLiff, but my personal views remain that - personal.
I do NOT apreciate you dragging private forum posts for Team Members only into a public lounge!
5) You posted it once - fine! Seeing as you have reposted it again. I will be discussing this matter with the rest of the mod team - VIA EMAIL! So that you cant read it.

But it seems that a certain mod, was pre disposed and biased against them, and in that case what chance did they have?
I would of expected a higher calibre of behaviour from mods then was was previously expressed in this thread. And this is only directed at the one mod, who keeps deleting and editing my posts.
Talk about state run media.. everything's censured.

they do know why, they know exactly why, if they're telling you any different they're playing you for the fool they tried to play everyone else for.
no one here is acting out of order. Some of you have no idea what it takes to moderate a place like this, if enigma was happy they were banned we all were, they were a pain in the ass and caused us more work than just about every other member posting in this forum put together.
just because you see one side of the story doesn't mean you have to jump around shouting about it like it's some sort of holy cause.
nerd and cliff did nothing for flashkit except entertain themselves a small clique of easily amused people, and cause us more work than we were willing to put up with.
happy they were banned, yes. Sorry, but they were petulant children and we're not kindergarten teachers.

The members know why they were banned. They were not and had no intention of being positive members of the community. Trying to turn this into some sort of "greater mission for free speech" is a sad kind of grandstanding - if you want attention that bad, start posting in the help forums.
rubbish, the decision to ban them was a group decision. See my other post, no one who had to clean up after them wanted them around any more, they were given every chance to clean up their act and didn't.Quote:

the only thing we're guilty of is giving them too much slack, we should have banned them months ago.

I'm not seing any side of the story.. that picture speaks for itself in some ways.
I don't know what happened up to this point , or any of the issues that contributed to this situation.
But as i said, i was asking about it and the thread was closed, then deleted then edited. all along no one engaged my posts.
So as someone was running around feverishly delting and editing that image out, it lead me to wonder what was being hidden, and what is there to hide if the mods acted appropriately.

2)you don't know the whole story. You saw a screenshot of a thread started just a few hrs ago by one Mod. You missed the entire convo the whole team has been having for weeks on this and I can tell you Enigma's views are shared.
I had asked for a permanent ban when Clif and Nerd got the temp one cos I felt the cooling off period was hopeless with those 2. They proved me right.

But, is banning teo permenant figures of such a large board the answer?
Because what really makes a board popular is content and posts. Sure people come for help but they stay for conversation.
I can say that both of them were coffee lounge freaks and rarely helped the whole "support board" scope, but they did contribute to some highly engaging conversations on various topics.
I can get help anywhere, from any board. But i can't get that kind of dialogue, and that's what those 2 brought.
So, i guess it's too bad in a sense, from your perspective it must of been difficult, but then again your bring upon yourselves with such stingent and vague rules here.

The CL isnt for Clif, Nerd and their im buddies alone and it isnt a place to see how much you can get away with before you piss off all the mods. You may have been enjoying their convos but you never received the PMs from those members who complained about their behaviour and felt intimidated. Many good members left the CL because of them.
Furthermore, Clif and Nerd are not the only permanent figures in the CL that have been banned. We have a long list of them and the CL was better off each and every time.

All we did was ban two members who's stated mission was "banning was coming, we were trying to push the rules" whether you like the fact that they're gone or not they were damaging this community.

The fact you saw it was a due to a simple mis-click by John Starky or a bug in the code - one of the two!
