My first battle, thought I would give it a try, did't have alot of pics but my next one I have some great ideas.
Don't really now the terms, like rotate, volley, stuff like that.
but anyone wants to battle me lets do it,
what is it called where you take the battled image and combine it with a new one??

Nice piece you should pick up some one to challenge. If you want to check the rules on the 2nd sticky in the arena it should explain pretty much every thing for you aiight chill :faded: good luck

pcride, try not to make so obvious uses of filters and blending modes. It will enhance the quality of your image 10 fold, I'm loving it anyway :D

yasunobu, glad to see you in the arena dude. cool image btw. I like the paper treatement, and the butterfly. but I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the "PvY" text as it seems to detract from the image overall. but the way you culled that butterfly from the previous volley is nothing short of amazing. great mask work and shaping.
however, that's just my opinion. please regard it as such.
I do like the color palette in both of you guys volleys. But PCPRIDE, I do have to recommend that the usage of filters not be so pronounced. The layout that you had for your original picture is nice, but the execution is a bit "rushed"...
Looking forward to seeing more from you guys. Keep it up!

Yeah, the image needed something more, but I was unsure. in retrospect, there's a few things that I would have done away with. I wanted the PvY, but I have no fonts, so I found a picture of a PRIVATE PROPERTY sign and cut it up. But that's what happens when you only spend an hour making it, I guess.Quote:

Thanks for the compliments and tips, I'm always looking for constructive criticism. And I have been shying away from actually being in a battle since I feel I'm too technical and not very artistic, but I think being in a few will give me some confidence in my other work, outside of programming.
dude, don't sweat how long it took you to make it. nightwish and I had an eleven minute battle a few months back. talk about putting stuff together quickly!
I still like composition behind the idea; but it's sometimes as much luck as it is skill to get that one layout to makes you say "damn, that's cool"...

Nice serve PCRIDE, nice combination of colors there, but like bv and gerbs mentioned, try to stay away from obvious use of filters if you want to make your volleys way much better. ;)
And another nice volley from yasunobu, loved the torn paper in the edge, looks prety good!

The only tron game I've ever played was the trial of Tron2, which never worked. And I go by BitwiseOR when I play games anyway.

Yeah, in the Tron 2.0, one during regular game and there are like 4 or 5 yasunobu's around the light cycle circuits :D, some of them with numbers added in the end (yasuobu452 was the last one I saw)
