Holy crap, why did I leave Australia?

Ok, so it's winter and I guess I knew it was coming but the temperature here in Toronto took a big dive today, from a comfortable 0ish to -22 (-35 when you factor in the wind)....

I was just talking to my friend in Australia who's complaining it's too hot to do anything, well, I just went out for coffee and I can tell you it's too damn cold here to do anything!

The door of the coffee shop was a slab of ice, literally, the condensation was freezing to it (inside) and they couldn't scrap it away fast enough. Your breath freezes to your face when you're walking, if your hand's outside of your pocket for ten seconds it starts to hurt, longer than that it turns blue and falls off (take note you flashers)!

Crazy weather but at least the sun was shining all day :)

I'm more of a cold guy meself. Doesn't really bother me when it gets into the negative numbers around here. Just gotta layer up and don't stay outside too long, is all. :)

Preparing for a little snow tonight/tomorrow, I'm excited.

Av, I naturally assumed that anyone with your amount of posts never actually got to see the sunlight let alone walk in it...:p

Heck, I figure anyone in the CL must be permanently affixed to some form of swivelling, rolling office furniture...

Maracaibo Venezuela is 100 degrees all year round or more.. ocasional drops to mid 90's and 80's at night..

I'm at a pleasant 20º right now :)

Caracas has great weather:D well most of the time anyways.. Pero la tierra del sol amado me hierve la sangre.. especialmente porque soy gringo!

Actually been doing a little research on Venezuela, looking at what other countries I'll get a chance to visit during my travels to South America... Sounds like I should go there if I want some heat!?

Yup, Maracaibo can get pretty hot. Cities on the east, like Puerto La Cruz, Cumaná and Porlamar get pretty hot too.

Mérida and Caracas, for example, are cooler since they're mountain cities.

If you're coming to Venezuela, you definitely should visit Los Roques, Canaima, and Mérida. And maybe Caracas if you'd like to go shopping and clubbing.

I cant understand you guys, I HATE being cold, it hurts. I dunno, maybe if it was hot here all the time I'd get sick of it, but I doubt it. Its very hot half the year and very cold the other half. Its 31 degrees now but it feels like -50 because the wind is so strong the buildings make wind tunnels frome the winds comming from the ocean. I hate winter.

Toronto wasn't too bad today on Monday or Tuesday. (pretty bad sunday) Wind hasn't been as crazy, and generally today it was much more pleasant. Maybe it's worse downtown with wind tunnels and such. As long as you have some hat and gloves on this type of weather is fine. Especially compared to what is still to come in Jan and Feb. That's the type of weatber that when you breathe through your nose, your nostrils freeze and stick together:)

today was mild as anything compared to the last few days. Ironically I was hoping it would snow all night so I wouldn't have to get up early for a meeting in Hamilton, but no, just when you want the extreme whether it lets you down!

Besides snowskating, sledding whilst blitzed, I hate snow and cold in general.

I cant skate, driving sucks, and I get sick so much more - and even sledding isnt that great - the hills are always rampaging with 125,000 kids with their dads - and if you go late at night all the snow is already swiped off so you're sledding on bare grass.

If it were up to me, I'd live on a beach 24/7 with an internet connection and a techie job - and it'd never snow.

I used to live off a beach on a tropical island where it was never anything but sunny, it gets boring pretty quick, seasons are great.

if san diego had massachussetts weather patterns, albiet short periods of cold, id still be there

Well i'm right next door in Montreal. We went from 1-2 degrees to negative 26 with -40 windchill. It's a bit better today though.

Funny that you posted though. I was talking to a girl from australia yesterday at the bus stop. She asked me why the strangers at the bus stop aren't huddling together to try and keep warm. Clearly she wasn't used to the cold weather.

So your saying I missed a snuggle with a pretty blonde.. damn.. (actually my GF probably would have gotten PO'ed since she was taking the same bus and standing not 2 inches from me)
