Seriously what is up with that?
It looks like a really bad collection of animated gifs.
I am glad I never had that in my footer... :p

did you spell it wrong on purpose?
What do you expect for $10/week....good looking graphics?
i would expect it to wash my clothes and cook dinner!
Jwin, i bet you'll beat your wife if you ever get one.
demanding that something expensive should do something worth the price = wife beater on the show COPS. I can see the correlation
What the hell... the search feature doesn't even work. It's all just really bad gifs (we're talking Tripod/Angelfire bad). Why is it at www.animations.com? That's not Flash Foundary. That's "Animations.com."
Sheesh.
i'm not basing this on just you're last past there paco. If you read most of your posts here at the coffee lounge, you come off as an Egotistical Wife Beating Prick.
...yup, i said it ban me if you wish.
i sincerely hope that jupiter media make some money out of flash foundry but i doubt it, you can get royalty free stuff on the net anyway without having to search too much.
i certainly wouldn't pay for this sort of rubbish.
its almost embarassing:

Wow I feel like I just opened a corel draw clip art book. sheeh :thumbsdowQuote:

Though, you are right. The book is like an inch and a half thick with clipart, fonts, and silouhettes of animals. :p
Its one of those things that will only work if the community is behind it (so far I don't think they've done enough to push the community aspect, or give back to the community enough to get them involved)...
And you all went to the wrong place, check my footer for details! ;)
lefteye, thats basically akin to saying, since silver makes gay cowboy jokes, his life is going to be the basis for brokeback mountain 2
And, yeh, I am so far mildly unimpressed with the foundry
./edit
can we say 'seizure'

bleh one word BLEH
Personally, I thought flash foundry was going to be something big and impressive not another pay for cheap graphics site. Dissapointing as said by admedia boy am I glad I didn't put that in my footer.
THAT!?!?! was what all the fuss was about?
BAITED.
bah. you can submit your own stuff, make money.
want better? make better. then submit it, then make moolah.
that part, I do like.
cool. submit my work n a chance to make money. i like.
>> what if they use my samples but didn't select me?
Then little missiles pop up out of thier speakers and kill them.
they can't use your samples without your permission.
it gets used, you get paid.
but read the fine print. I think they also assume ownership. quick way to make some moolah though.
they get the ownership. meaning if they choose my rainbow cow with 8 legs. i can not copyright my rainbow cow with 8 legs later on?
do i understand correctly?
erm. wow.
something like that. you can't sell it to any other distributor, basically for profit. sorta like you decide to sell the rights to them. so you can't give it away at a later date, and I'm pretty sure that you can't sell it to other sites too.
then i'd better keep my rainbow cow, hehe:) im planning to do some animations, not with the cow though
So just the rainbow then? ;)Quote:

I want to know why random people started hyping it when they didn't even know what it was. That's pretty stupid, seeing as you were backing what looks like pre-school animations.
i was one of those people. i did it because i thought it was going to be really cool and was hoping some of the excitement would reflect well on me.
Well-You thought wrong.
You infact backed something that thinks this is cool:

:D
BWHAHHAAH
http://static-a.arttoday.com/thm/thm...0103009-FFFFFF
You have got to be kidding me.
$10 a month is robbery!
this site doesnt make sense. it should be royalty free animations. i wouldn't want to pay to download some animation (no matter how good) that can not be distributed in some way for profit. why else would i use it for?
No, I think you misunderstand. You can use it for your own designs that you sell, but you can't just start up fishfoundry.net and sell them as animations there. That's the difference.Quote:

EDIT: They are animated gifs. Right click on them. :)
in easy words, we are the whores and flashkit is the pimpQuote:

another possible source of revenue for not even your best work, and you scoff at it? cynical bunch.
If you made a site to sell SWFs (FLAs), would you put the SWFs on the site so people could swipe them from their cache and decompile them? If you were selling photography would you put full resolution images or thumbnails?Quote:
They are animated gifs.
haha. good point.
im not anti-foundry, myself. if it can afford them to take a couple adds down from the FK site, im all for it! ;)
also, there is already a system that does this same thing. macromedia exchange.

surely, anyone desperate enough would just copy the gifs?
if the flashkit community been told of flashfoundrys intentions earlier then we could have made some sort of contribution to it.
as it is, it just looks like a crummy way for jupitermedia to make some extra cash. whilst ignoring its members. had flashkit said to its members, "we will pay for your work for a new venture (or something similar)" then it may have been taken more seriously.
It was said. Nobody happened to have read that ****.
copying these gifs into flash?Quote:

AND TABLES FOR LAYOUT? the doctype is html 4....what are they coding with? frontpage? it amazes me....they have a whole community full of designers and coders to choose from, and they do that design and code?
I said it before and will say it again. The way flashkit is handled, and the attitude of jupitermedia are bad. Flashkit sucks. The people here, and all the mods and admins don't, they really give so much to keep this community alive, and that's what keeps me here, but as a whole "designer forum" they [jupitermedia] do give a very wrong image.
My opinion. Jupitermedia doesn't care about the community, just make money however they can
