What's your RAM?

Just wondering.

I have a 1gig in this laptop.

It's just not cutting it for me anymore.

PC - 256 / Laptop (Compaq) - 512 / Laptop (Thinkpad 486) - either 16 or 32 / 128 for everything else.

I run into virtual memory all of the time on my PC. I need to get some more, but I want to just upgrade my machine all at one time.

I'm putting $100 FK dollars (we should have a point system here for just this occasion) down that he gets his 4th strike per the moderator's 32 strikes and you're out, rules.

Seriously, we need a point or "community money" system here. You get points for helping out and you can use them to start threads in the coffee lounge. Replies are free. If you do something stupid like have a very large footer, you get demerits (points taken off) and when you reach 0 you get a suspension, then after that, you're banned.

me likes that idea. I think some support blogs work like that:

You post a technical question. Everybody answers, then the person that posted the question picks the best answer, and the mods or i dunno, someone gives the winner some credits and thread gets closed.

It would be cool to make an FK PRO site, with paid memberships. Then you can sign in as guru or helpseeker. Gurus earn part of the money after they earn a certain number of credits.

It'd keep quality of members (no 12 year old would sign up for a paid membership, would they? well, except Virgo), and threads....because as you mentioned, maybe start thread could need a certain amount of credits.

I'm actually about it, would you like to talk bout it tupperware-boy? pm me :D

like a post rating system...

For Example:

o Troll | o Wrong | o Off Topic | o n00b | o Thanks | o LOL | o LMFAO

you can just click one to rate someones post, that will + or - their points total.

After some googling, the consensus is that one can use 4Gb of RAM, but have to trick XP, by turning off the pagefile. Windows XP can only handle a maximum of 4GB including physical and virtual memory.

And yes 550 gigs is more than half a terabyte!

I'm sure you mean 550 gigs of storage. I don't even know if a zSeries mainframe can address 550 gigs of memory.
