Most excited? A working, production version of the PS3 that's using the internal graphics engine chips and showing actual games and not some workstation mock-up... that'll be the tops on my list.
But honestly? How the emulation on the Wii will be the second thing I'm looking forward to.
I'm waiting on official US announcements on the Metal Slug and Powerstone collections for the PSP...
Gave away my tickets to the E3 - still stuck in the midwest US, so I'll get my friend to call me with some details.
You're a funny guy.Quote:

W4 - From Sputnik to Spore: Will Wright's new way of game creation
Tuesday, May 9, 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM
Room 404AB
Maxis Studios founder, Sim City and Sims creator, and uber game designer Will Wright is expanding his gig into anthropology, astronomy and astrobiology. His upcoming game, Spore, will give players a chance to build their character-organism from bones to brains, and allow a gamer to explore the galaxy beginning as a single-cell life form. Interviewed by Newsweek editor N'Gai Croal, topics addressed will include the future of user-generated and shared game content, and the overall process of bringing an impossible idea to reality via an uncompromising approach to game design.
Speakers: Will Wright, Designer - Maxis (Spore)
Edit: ^OLD ^
Like gerbs, I wanna see some real ps3 stuff, but in all likely hood I'll be buying one regardless. I'm mainly interested in original Wii games. I would like that same feeling as when they introduced the n64 controller, you just knew games were gonna be new and different. I really really hope they don't overdue the hype on the emulation thing, that should be the clincher to buy it, not the main selling point.
Sony announces ahead of the conference that the PS3 will be in stores this coming November.

Link to Live Nintendo Wii coverage at engadget, if anyone is interested.
Wait, are they releasing two zeldas or two controllers?Quote:

Two variations of the Zelda game. One for Wii and one for GC.
Neither. One game, two versions (one for GameCube, one for Wii).
Damn you GF5 :yarr:
Has anyone found any new ingame footage from the Wii or any new game?
I have a friend out there who works for a game developer. He said that the interest level in the PS3 stuff is pretty low after Nintendo's presentation.

Caught some of this last night and I have to say, I think Sony is out of their minds - $500 for the low-end PS3? There's no way gamers can afford that, at least not the bulk of high-school and college age kids. And the games they were showing for it were sort of lack luster.
It'll never happen, but I was thinking a great strategy for Sony is to keep saying the price is $500 right till launch, then come out and say "Oh, did I say $500? I meant $300." That way everyone who had been saving up for the system itself will have an extra $200 allocated toward gaming that can go directly into games and perifrials.
...hey a guy can dream now, can't he? ;)
Not true. Some won't beable to afford it but they will sale out. When the XBOX 360 came out people were willing to pay between $1000-$2000 to get there hands on one via eBay. Sony just want's a quarter of that to sell it off the shelf.Quote:

If you think about it, it isn't that much more than the 360 for what you get. You get free internet game play, a built-in hard drive...you don't have to pay extra for and lug around an external one later, and a high end video player. That is quite a few extra's that on any other console would cost you more than $200.Quote:

Besides that, I'm really interested in all this Wii news. I'm upset that Blizzard won't be announcing what they're working on, but they're probably waiting for BlizzCon in the Fall (which is gay of them).
Otherwise, I don't really care much for those high priced consoles. I mean, what University student has $500 to drop on a system, let alone the games? I think that is the main problem though, although the system is really expensive, the games are absurd. Who wants to pay $80 for a game that you get 2 weeks use out of? Or how about $80 for a game you end up not liking?
Nope, I'll stick with my modded xbox for now and wait for the Wii to see whats up.
They did announce the new WarCraft movie yesterday...Quote:

something to keep in mind is if you get the cheaper $499 ps3, not only is the hdd smaller, you will also lose memory card ability, flashcard readers, the builting adapater for 1080p resolution, among other things.
funny how sony forgot to mention that.
Yeah that is quite a difference that I didn't know about. I was thinking about getting the $500 one but maybe i'll fork out the extra hundred now.Quote:

But still... damn.
Spore looks like another time-killer. I loved the idea of creatures you create and develop "infecting" the game world of everyone else.
Zelda
it has crates!!!
I can't understand why they didn't make the nunchuck wireless too.
Great link ihoss. Watch it now guys before youtube pulls it.

Agreed. The price point is just right, and the feel of the console seems well thought out.Quote:

I think the Wii controller is wireless; it's just the secondary part that's connected by a wire to the main controller, correct?
I was a loyal Nintendo fanboy for most of my life - went NES, SNES, N64. Went with the PS2 for my last purchase, simply because i felt it was time to explore a more 'mature' machine and game line. But, with the price point on the PS3 (and my dislike of MS and XBox) I just may be going home again. :)
theres alot of positive buzz right now about nintendo's Wii
this made my freaking morning

There was an extra '/' in your link, I fixed it ;)Quote:

Did anyone else hear that Wii is going to use Opera as a web browser?
what are the tech specs on it, are the other systems that much more powerful?
I'm still most excited about the wii virtual console. I've been playing emulators for years, but to get back to the console feel will be phenominal.
Virtual Console Pics
Hudson says 100 games for the turbo graphics, and I'm sure sega will better that (150+ most likely). I say at least 200 games for each nintendo console and every game cube game will run on wii. Finally the wii itself will probably have between 10-20 games at launch. That over 1000 games at launch. For a system thats likely to be sub-$250 at launch, I'd be hard not to get one.
its roughly twice as powerfull as the game cube. nintendo has decided to focus on getting people to learn a new way of playing and enjoying games this generation. next gen will not only have HD power, but the Wii's controll scheme.Quote:
