pretty...where's my wallpaper?
<3
Damn - That's superb!
Wow O, you've outdone yourself. Where was that in the last round of MM?
Simply a superb image and feel. The atmosphere and perspective are just outstanding. Top shelf for sure. And forgive me for saying this, but I'm loving the lack of typography in this one.

Thank you very much, Matt.
Wow!
i will have something up for tonight, killer image, very serene!
Super job meng, that was a neat idea to blend the drawn area into the real world like that. I'll see what I can do about having something up for Thursday night, though it will probably be more like very early Friday morning :P -Tom
Really nice work Extricate, composition and blending are tight!
This battle's rockin already :D
thanks guys, i appreciate it! i am looking forward to the end results, should be a great battle.....and pointguard, i am still coming after you :yikes:
Great work on this one, Mark. As I said, this is easily the best blending job you've done yet!
Tom...Jump on it!

It's not as super-cool as I had hoped for, but I was trying to keep the time reasonably close to 24hrs. - Tom G :mrpimp:
So many things about that image make me crack up, great work dude. I'll have mine up by tomorrow, probably afternoon, maybe night.
I am loving this battle guys. Keep up the great work!
bison hanging from a helicopter???? hahahaha
cool image man
Thanks for the feedback guys. I got the idea for the image from that Neil Young song "Pocahontas"....especially the buffalo part. I don't think Neil would approve of the comical side of it though :P
Ondraedan is up yo! Now go out there and be somebody!

I've got mixed feelings about this one...there are things I like very much about it and at the same time I feel like it's not finished yet.
Extricate: The image overall seems to be balanced well and there is great use of the previous image, however I feel that the piece is too bright. It could just be my monitor but I think the midtones could be brought down a bit darker. Also, there seems to be more contrast on the geography than on the house and on the man, i.e. the shadows on the rocks are almost black whereas the house has a lighter shadow on its left side. I am really impressed with the depth of your image. Overall, very solid work.
2BaD4U: Absolutely hilarious! The satellite dishes on the tepees are fabulous. Interesting use of the helicopters from the previous image. Very bold color pallet. A lot of repetition, very nice. I would only say that the bison hanging from the helicopter is way too big for that helicopter. Also the stretch limo seems to get too small as it disappears behind the left tepee, as if the focal length for the tepees and the limo are different. These are just nit picks though, everything else I can see you worked hard on and have paid off. Great image!
ondraedan: !!!! I have absolutely no idea what to even say about your piece, O. Your blending/stitching never ceases to amaze me. You lighting is always spot on. Your color pallets are absolutely lovely, nothing off key. The content never seems to lack a strong mood or emotional tension. I like the tepee shape in the rock structure. I absolutely love the use of dream catchers. Because they are made just white, their shapes and patterns become a beautiful focal point for the image, while their feathers give some direction that drags your attention down below to what is going on in the desert. Overall I would say the composition is very strong, but perhaps there is a bit of negative space in the top corners or sides that could use some information stretching beyond the scene borders. Maybe not, I can't decide. Perhaps "REGENERATE" would be better suited just above the largest dream catcher and faded a bit to shake off some attention? Maybe the whole piece could use a thin border? Looks great as it is and I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Same goes for your very first piece.
now, i have a question.. Is the indian guy supposed to be a ghost or something? cuz to me it just looks like it is floating, and seems out of place. Overall, nice job with the colors, i love the way you match the tones on everything you do.
Thanks for taking the time and giving such a thorough crit Zac! I had actually tried placing the text in several spots, including up above the dreamcatcher, but none of them looked as good to me.
Mark, he's not floating it's just that his stance is set wide and his feet are mostly hidden by the wolf's upper legs...depending on the brightness of your monitor, you may not be able to see them at all. I must have a really strange brightness setting, because out of the half dozen computers I have access to, none of them display the image the same as my home pc, they're always much darker. On the pc I'm on now, you can't even tell that the indian and wolf are on a cliff, it just looks like they're floating in blackness with a rock structure in the background.
I didn't see the legs or cliff either. I wonder how my images must look on a bright monitor :S...
Huh, he is right. I turned up brightness from 28 to 85 and ALL of his pictures look better. And DeVulf, yours look rather weird that bright. :)
****. I'm on a laptop and can't change the brightness settings. I did Adobe Gamma the other day, but it stuck with the same brightness. I looked on my main PC, and my images looked like garbage. I wish things just stayed consistent.
Oh no.. my poor RC image. It looks so much worse on my main monitor than lappy.. :(
I should learn to check these damn things before I submit. I'm surprised EVP didn't mention it.
Thanks for the crit zacaboo...I believe I see what you are talking about with the perspective on the limo, I will strive to improve my object distance in relation to other object skills :P As for the buffalo, or bison...the goal was to make the animal appear significantly larger than it should be, so as to greatly increase the comic effect :)
hm, now i guess its my turn....i will try to have something up tomorrow night, is that cool?
Allow me to speak for Ondraedan, our fearless (no pun intended) leader, and say "Yah Mon that is cool, take your time....but do it! do it now!" At least that's what I think he would say. Peace... G
^ Verbatim.

eh, its alright...sorry for the slight delay
I like it Mark, very good job! You did a good job placing the cowboys into the field, and the shadow on the colorized rider looks great.
Good job Mon! That actually looks like a picture that would be taken near my house.... Humina Humina Humina! I suppose I'm up next...classes are starting back up again though, so I may not have an image up until tuesday night, but I will do my best to make it for monday. Peace! - G

Ondraedan was breathing fire down my neck so I told him I'd post something tonight....HAHAHAAA!!!!
note:this image is subject to change.
Wow dude. Super wow even.
GREAT use of colors and very clever stock selection!
The inclusion of the circus tent is an ingenious contrast to the dungeon/torture aspects. Really, this is a completely perfect piece, spot-on blending, perfect lighting and tone. I can't think of a single thing that would improve it. Except maybe proof that the schoolteacher is in fact a hermaphrodite.
huh? i see a wierd picture of a cowboy holding a guitar, i am guessing this is the joke image :) anyways, looking forward to continuing this battle guys!

I scrapped two other images before making this one...I should scrap this too, but I just can't do this anymore right now so here it is. Mark, you were right in guessing that the last image was a joke, but as it turns out the real image isn't much better... :doughnut: well... In case anyone is wondering what I used from the previous image, the crossbones in my cowboy skull thingy were made from horse legs. Mmmmm horse. That's it, have fun O. ---G :mrpimp:
HA HA HA. I should be able to have some fun with this concept.
is it me, or does it look a little dark?...interesting piece, i like how you made the skull and crossbones, very creative. Look forward to your image Matt
Dark for me too, Ex.
Dag-Nabbit! I'm on one of the computers at school right now, and it looks dark here too. It looked fine on my laptop :P Well...fine is the wrong word...it still looked crappy, but the brightness/contrast was good. Goooooo gettem O!
