very stylish and smooth...
the most stylish and beautiful 3d flash site I´v seen so far
it could be based on sandy with the physics that are shown with the interactive flag at the bottom
That waterfall is really pretty.
That's really sweet. Love the flipbook.
This is a great example of how to use the technology to its best effect.
Makes me wonder if it could be made into a similar game.
Does anybody remember nebulous?
Nebulus? Yeah, I do, and I forgot the title and have been trying to figure out what it was for a while now. So thanks! :)
Impressive.
i don't think it's papervision or sandy...
it's this guy:

Oh my God, this is sick...
A round of applause for the guys behind this one.
Thanks for the link, Fall_X.
seems to be just 1 guy
That is really cool.
One thing I really liked (besides the nice integration of 3D), was the nice touch of as you went higher up, the bird chirping and what not became less and more quiet.
Wow! very impressive!
Wow that is so stylish and runs perfect. I actually think its his own 3d engine M3D.
Then it would be defide.inc , a Japanese agency that did that ( this guy working for them ). Some of this stuff is over a year old, like that very detailed 3D bloody eyed girl, also done by a Japanese agency.
It's very polished and overall a great job, but what's it got to do with games?
technology and inspiration !?Quote:

I like what you did with #2 there ( even though you borrowed the idea from another flashkit member ) but I'm more of a 4-5 D guy ).
must be your impression,- I´ve seen other inspiration links without 3d as well
seems to be 3d demos 95% of the time. There was one pixel art thread, but I can't think of much else. Not a big fan of pixel art either :shhh: ( although I have nothing against it )
Mike do you like _anyhting_ other than your own games?
Do you not see no-game related pieces and feel that you could take inspiration from them and use them in your games?
Chris
I was expecting something like this from you :lovers:Quote:

Fair enough. It reminds me of an early Playstation game ( don't know the name ) with some bunny hopping around a 3d fairytale world. I don't know whether that was ever released outside of Japan ( Playstation , Saturn, and N64 I had were all Japanese imports )Quote:

Great design like that inspires me not for the ingame
but splash screens menu's and stuff.
That guy also lives in the same town as me.
I'm wondering if it's the same bloke I sometimes play Tekken 6 against sometimes, it sure resembles him.
Its perfectly fine to post something like this here for inspiration, cause yeah, it can be good as inspiration for game developers.
And yeah, Mike, its still pretty lowpoly but what the heck, its really nice to look at and play around with. Its one of the rare times i see 3D in flash used in a really cool way that actually makes sense. The site navigation is intuitive, works well on several boxes i tried and yeah, if that is what they were going for then flash was the right tool for it.
As you know i moan often about flash 3D beeing pointless, too since it usually has ridiculous hardware ressources demand while at the same time looking crappy compared to way old stuff made in other technologies.
Even if you have that stance, too you should give props to this guy who has made something very nice which runs and looks really nice within te limitations of the technology.
To me this is next to the other Roxik stuff, what Render does in 3D and the Red Bull Flight day game definately among the best use of 3D in flash.
So, how is Unity working out?
I don´t want to distract too much from the thread topic, this site is something very special and it deserves at least one full thread dedicated to it, but as you asked a quick rundown:
I can´t show what i´m working on right now due to the usual NDA stuff but yeah,so far i´m quite liking it :)
If anyone is interested i can do a short rundown of a comparison of flash,XNA and unity in an own thread.
I thought it was a good site, but could use to work on the load time. I am on a t1 and it loaded slow(maybe their server idk). Other than that no big complaints
it loaded in less than 10 secs for me on slower connection, too so yeah, must be the server being under pressure or some bad routers on the path.
Runs so smooth, better than PV, even on my old iMac. This guy knows how to optimize.
As far as the post being in the Games forum, I think it should be posted on every forum for, as tom said, inspiration.
seriously nice
