Frustrated?

I've gotten SO much help through these forums, and I really enjoy helping out others with questions when I can and knowing that they actually learned something, but I just come across so many posts from people just looking for someone to do something for them for free and then, you help them out and they're just like "thanks, but can you make it do this..." and I KNOW they're not learning anything themselves, they don't care what it takes to make the fix and it frustrates me, but, I feel that I should keep helping since I already replied to them, but I just want to send them an invoice for the time...

Anyone else experience this??

I've gotten used to it. If I have the time, I do it. If I don't... then no way.

ever ban a newbie for bumping a post too many times or bugging you with too many pm follow-ups??

Yes, I have. But I've also banned somebody for snoring too loudly, a la John Wesley Hardin ;)

I was joking... but seriously. yeah... I've been hit with a few questions, it dripped over to PM, and next thing I know, they wanted me to do the entire project, for free.

It was laughable at first... a few years later - I'm celebrating my 8th year here soon - it's commonplace. I'm used to it... and can usually avoid it by delegation.

yeah, i tried delegating them to my dog, but he just looks at me funny and pees on the floor...

it generally doesn't bother me because most people put up the front that they have at least tried doing something...and, those that don't, it's generally a quick fix, so it doesn't bother me much...just hit me at the wrong time this morning and inspired annoyance...

A. Is not a copy and paste of their entire code hoping I'll sift through it.
B. Is not a template they want to 'modify'.
C. Shows that they would understand my answer.
