Flash audio vs. screen reader
I am struggling with the best way to present 508 elearning, specifically in the instance of use with a screen reader.
The best experience would be to keep the normal audio (rather than the screen reader using the closed captioning) so I can take advantage of dialoged performance and multiple voices. But there is also content that is text only and I would want the screen reader to read. When you advance to a page the narration normally starts right away and also the screen reader starts to read the accessibility tags on the Flash objects. I think you would agree that 2 simultaneous audio presentations are not desirable.
It is possible to pause the screen reader with a key stroke and I suppose you cold have Flash detect the screen reader and pause Flash audio, but neither of these seems like a great solution.
Anyone found a good way to deal with this?
Flash Form 508 Compliancy
Hey... I'm probably not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have to find out if Flash Form is 508 compliant.
I'm not even sure if this is the right place to find out, but couldn't get any answers from the manufacturer.
I have read the string of posts, and found it quite interesting, have checked out the checklist which is helpful... but can anyone tell me... is Flash Form able to create eLearning that is 508 compliant... and if so... where can I find the details?
Thanks for any help you can provide :)
